Two landings and two staircases in dark walnut stained red oak. Beyond my expectations! They work quickly and efficiently, but cut no corners and the result is gorgeous. They’re thoroughly professional and easy to work with, knowing how important your home is to you, and your satisfaction is their best advertising. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Highly recommended!! Esteban and his team did a fantastic job on our floors! We were trying to correct an unfortunate outcome from a previous experience and the results by SSJ Flooring exceeded my expectations. Esteban takes time to explain the process and is patient with questions. Prompt, professional and overall quality service.

Esteban did a fantastic job on our floors. For a flat fee, they include removal, installation, and cleaning. Also the hardwood floors we ordered have a thicker texture, giving it a warmer feeling in our apartment. Would high recommend to anyone looking to install new floors!

I would highly recommend STAYING AWAY from this company — took them a month to actually get here and, when they did, they never finished the project AFTER my husband paid them in full. They booked 3 different appts afterwards only to be a no-show. We texted, called, no response. Not only does the owner Steve lack the courtesy to return a phone call while we wait around all day, but his workers stole 4 boxes of the flooring that we paid for! I saw the flooring make it back in to his workers truck when they were cleaning up for the day, but I thought he was just keeping it “safe”; thankfully, I took a picture of this anyway just in case! 2.5 MONTHS LATER, I had to shell out more money to have someone else complete the job. And, while the new flooring guy was doing the install, he kept calling me over to show me TONS of screw ups and splits in the flooring from SSJ Hardwood Flooring. The only reason I gave him 1 star is because I had to in order to post this. STAY AWAY!!!

I hired SSJ to refinish my hardwood floors in my condo that were previously carpeted over since the 80s. Esteban explained what I could expect from the final outcome and walked me through the work they would do. We had an actual conversation, not him throwing me a sales pitch. The team did an amazing job. The floors look new. He took his time to instruct me on future care and did a detailed walkthrough after the job was done. He’s done work for my family previously and they have also had great experiences. I highly recommend SSJ.

I hired SSJ to redo my floors in Greenwich Village. Fantastic to deal with the entire job. Esteban was incredibly responsive through the entire process. He even texted photos during the refinishing. I would hire Esteban in a second if I needed floors refinished.

Esteban is a consummate professional. He’s also very considerate and communicative. He gave me a tour today of the floors that he and his crew refinished in a 2-bedroom condo I just purchased in Jersey City, and the results are impressive and make me really happy. I see a couple of recent reviews on here that are not favorable to Esteban, and I’d like to say that it seems to me like all of the other reviewers–in other words, the vast majority of positive, glowing reviews–are more likely to represent for you what it’s like to work with Esteban. Based on my experience with him on this July 2019 job, those bad reviews simply seem out of character for him and may say more about the character of the negative reviewers. All that being said, all I can really do is speak of my experience with Esteban. When I first met him, he struck me as friendly and very knowledgeable about both refinishing and replacing floors. He consulted with me about both kinds of project, and quoted both. I decided on sanding and refinishing, and I’m very glad I did. For a fair price, the finished product is much more appealing than the prior floor. The quality of the workmanship is very good. And the color/hue of the wood as well as the coatings are what I expected. Throughout the process of getting to this finished product, Esteban has been very enjoyable to work with, and left the apartment clean and in very good shape. He and his crew even went the extra mile and hauled off some metal baseboard heater covers that we no longer wanted. Engaging a contractor can be a miserable experience. Esteban is a kind, professional, dependable exception to that rule. I highly recommend him to you.
