Sam was quick to respond, came to give us an estimate, and answered all of our questions about different finishes. He got the work done in a day and we were so impressed with how the floors looked. It jump started our renovation of our new house and we can’t thank him enough!

They charged $800 to replace a few pieces in my oak floor, probably a 2 by 3 area. The pieces they installed are not as thick as the existing so I have a pit in my floor, the new pieces are rough to the touch. Not like unsanded rough. Rough like they somehow got sand in the new varnish they applied. Also several of the new pieces have split. Now I have to hire someone else to fix the work I paid these guys to do six months ago.

I am new to the area and needed to begin refinishing floors in This Old House. I was lucky enough to contact the Sam crew. They showed up with the right equipment and a crew big enough to handle the job. They were in and out in 3 hours and did a phenomenal job. These are my go-to guys from now on. They did good work for a reasonable price

Sam Floor Sanding emailed and called me back in 24 hrs after I sent an inquiry via their contact page on their website. I sent pics of my well worn oak floors (513 sf) that had bare spots and chunks missing and Jimmy gave me an estimate that was fair and reasonable. One week later, willing to work on the weekend, Jimmy and his crew arrived at 7:30am after traveling an hour and a half to my location in Western Maine. They immediately got to work: repaired, sanded, sealed and stained the floors on the first day, and then returned later the next day to buff and stain again refinishing the floors to their natural state. The floors really do look brand new and I am so glad that I didn’t try doing this myself! Everyone was friendly, answered my questions, left the job site clean and came in right on budget: $1,500.00.

After 30 years of looking at the wear and tear of the dining room floor, it was time to do something about it. It was such an eyesore, I hated walking into the room. It had too much evidence of human error (bleach leakage, hand-sanding gouges in the wood left by a terrible piano move). I felt guilty every time I looked at the floor. So, during my mother’s absence, I decided to have the floors refurbished. I had no idea that they could look so good again. Except for one water stain which was too old to remove (it’s the only blight and is barely noticeable, and they did everything they could to remove it), the oak floors are the nicest part of the house now. Sam Floor Sanding did a superb job and their rates were $500 lower than the highest bid. Sam’s is a two-man team, but my guess is with all of the referrals I’m giving them, they’ll have to hire more workers. I think it’s wonderful that they are so professional, and aren’t out to gouge their customers. These are honest men who do an honest days work. You’ll be happy that you hired them.
