I have nothing but good things to say about Amazing Fences & Landscaping. Good pricing and excellent work. John shows and demonstrates a high level of knowledge regarding his craftsmanship. My fence was installed in a timely manner. I will hire and recommend Amazing Fences for any additional work I may need in the future.

John did my fence as a sub for another contractor. He did a great job and was communicative throughout. He ended up fixing some of my irrigation that another contractor had completely mangled for a reasonable price. We plan to use him for some other work as well.

I had my fence installed last year (2023). It looks absolutely wonderful. John was very professional and kept me in the loop about each step. He was very easy to talk to. With the fence up I can really see how big my yard is. I would recommend him to anyone who wants a fence installed.

John was referred by a family member, came out on short notice, gave us a more than fair price, provided and aggressive schedule to complete the job and John and his team delivered! Good morning this post has been long overdue . The owner John is a person that is reliable , honest, and professional throughout my project . I’ve should’ve posted a while ago but what else I will say is that his prices are very reasonable and he’s been in the business along time. Despite some of those negative reviews I even read going with him and his company was one of the best decisions I made and I thank him for his quality of work. Great craftsmanship on our project . Let him give you a quote and you won’t regret it believe me.

John Clackum, the owner, will take your money and run. He is the most unresponsive “business” I’ve ever dealt with. He had every excuse when I asked him why he wasn’t at my house working… death in family, his donkey had an emergency and the vet is coming, his truck is broke, he needs to run to Home Depot (then is 4 hours late), he needs a colonoscopy, he is going on vacation (although he didn’t mention that when we set up the job), his “crew” can’t drive in because they don’t have a ride that day or it’s too cold outside for them. When I signed the contract with him and we agreed on the price, I later asked about upgrading the hardware on the gate. He quoted me about $20 bucks more (which seems in line with what I’ve seen at Home Depot). When the job was finally over he wanted $80 more and said he had to special order it. We also had in the contract he would do a small retaining wall along with the fence. He ended up using the fence as part of the retaining wall, which is not what we had discussed and when I asked him about it he was very rude to me and said the fence is strong enough to hold it. The issue is that’s not what we agreed on, and every online resource said that was the improper way to do it. He ended up correcting it, but then wanted to charge me more than what was on the signed contract. I refused to pay that, especially with all the unprofessionalism, and he filed a lien on my house and texted me a picture of the paperwork. Little did he know I had already moved. To properly convey all the issues I had would take many paragraphs. The bottom line is, do NOT USE HIM. He is not a reputable business… he is a one man show with a few stragglers who work with him on occasion. He also told me they are illegals, which is why they can’t get to work when he can’t pick them up (which was often).

There is ALWAYS an excuse as to why he can’t come or didn’t come. Communication is VERY poor. Will NOT RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!!! He put up our corner posts and I had to keep texting to find out when he would be back to finish the fence. Finally came back 2 weeks later put dig holes and place more posts. Still hasn’t been back to cement the posts. This is truly ridiculous!

My experience with Amazing Fences & Landscaping was AMAZING…amazingly terrible. First let me own the fact I did not do enough due diligence on checking reviews on multiple sites or company in general. Had I looked on multiple sites I would not have selected this company, I would not have selected this company. My experience was ‘same song different verse’. Now, in reading many other reviews my experience with this company is not unique; (1) collect money/cash check, (2) delay after delay, (3) he accepts no accountability/responsibility for his business practices and (4) he makes no pricing concessions for his poor business practices. The one good thing I can say is at least my delay was only (almost) 5 weeks and for this I am thankful as I understand others have had delays of 3-6 months and some jobs not even completed. I know what comes next, Mr. Clackum will try to dispute the facts stated below. And to that I say I have text messages in .pdf form, voice mails and a photo diary that will support my statements. Again I take full responsibility for the fact I did not do my due diligence in vetting the company before signing a contract. For others who are looking to do business with this this company please check multiple sites (Facebook, Yelp, Google Reviews, Next Door, etc.) and get Mr. Clackum to write on the contract the number of days work effort estimate for the job – write it next to the (estimated) start date. His contract is very one sided and gives the purchaser no rights and the only recourse is to adjudicate in the appropriate Georgia municipality. I wished I had had him write into the contract a penalty (reduction to price) for every day he was late in completing the job (or past an DOCUMENTED/established date).
