We bought our home 4/10/24. At settlement, the previous owners provided us with a copy of the proposal from BovioRubino regarding an AC unit install, should we need any assistance. The proposal has an acceptance date of 5/8/23, which means the unit has been installed for no more than 14 months. The week of 7/8/24, we noticed that the unit was not blowing cold air and the fan inside the unit was not running at all. We called customer service and they had a technician come out. The tech found that there was a leak in the refrigerant right near the compressor, which caused the compressor to fry. We were quoted $2,800 to fix it. Despite the proposal stating a 10-year parts warranty and a 3-year labor warranty, Bovio-Rubino will not honor the labor warranty due to a change in home ownership. Regardless of who owns the home, an $11,000+ job should not be failing in the first 14 months of installation. To me, that screams faulty installation that Bovio-Rubino will not take responsibility for. I would also like to add that the unit has barely been run as prior to our settlement, the previous owners were not living there and we have also not moved in to the home as of 7/17/24.

Just had the most knowledgeable tech. Hoping this ongoing issue is resolved Update 4 hours later: House back up to 80 degrees. Very unhappy as you could imagine. $20k 14 months ago. 4 service calls in a year and 80 degrees during a heatwave Update#2: within 48 hours of paying for an additional after market part that was to fix this new unit, air is off again. Apologies aren’t really working anymore than your nearly $19k unit. Need a resolution
