BJ Heating and Cooling replaced my old furnace and air units over ten years ago; and the replacement has been more efficient than the original (saved me a lot of money on monthly utility bills ever since. I have a seasonal maintenance contract with BJ that helps things run smoothly! Recently a capacitor died on my air unit on a Saturday; I called BJ that night and they came the next day (Sunday morning) and repaired the unit. This was during our “heat wave”! No, it wasn’t free or cheap, but BJ Heating was on it that quickly; I appreciated the fast response! Good company!

At this point I’m just writing a review of my initial experience. I’ll update after the work has been completed. The gentleman that came out to do the estimate was excellent. He was on time. He was friendly. He was knowledgeable. I chose this company because of the great Google reviews and so far, I have nothing but great things to say. I have a feeling the service will be excellent as well, but I’ll update next week once the new unit has been installed.

Our family and many friends have trusted BJ heating & cooling for years, so it wasn’t a difficult decision to choose them. Barry came out and assessed our current system and the concerns we had. Within a short time he had worked up an estimate that met our requirements. On the day of installation, the crew showed up on time and worked all day to get the new AC and furnace up and running. The installation crew were top notch and completed the installation in the time that they had estimated. Everything worked perfectly the first time and they completely cleaned up after themselves. Our system had an interface to the internet and the ability to remote change and monitor many system parameters. Before this could work properly, the unit had to download several firmware revisions. Be more patient than I was. It may take the system 24 hours or so to complete all the updates depending upon what the current firmware revision is at the time of installation. Once this was complete, I could easily pair the unit to my iPhone. I really like the ability to control the system from anywhere. They are our are worth what we invested in them and our new system and are our preferred company for all our heating and cooling needs. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Today started off worst case scenario. We had gotten back from a trip and our air wasn’t keeping up/had frozen over. I replaced the filter just weeks ago so I called for help. We had a tech from a DIFFERENT company come out and tell us that our HVAC was low on refrigerant, and that that meant there had to be a leak. She quoted me at $1500 to fill the refrigerant and check for a leak. Then said it could be an extra 3000-5000 more to repair the leak based on where it was. She said some people just opt for a whole new system at that point. My system is 6 years old. I told her I wanted a second opinion and that I was not going to do anything yet. Enter John- our technician with BJ heating and cooling. He came in wearing shoe covers, seemed so much more personable, and was super knowledgeable. He hooked up the same machine that the previous tech used on our outside unit to show me and explain that the numbers that were listed meant we were completely fine on refrigerant. He said the coils inside were a little dirty, but not bad enough to where they would need replaced. Then he asked me if I owned humidifiers, to which I replied that we own and use two consistently for my kids. He then explained that because of the hard water from Jeffersonville, the misted air produced by the humidifiers coats our filter and leaves a white powder residue(calcium buildup from the hard water). He took our old filter outside and knocked it on the concrete to show me that it left a powder residue behind. He was confident that we had a filter issue, not a refrigerant leak. He easily saved me 5000 dollars and I am so grateful. Thank you John, and thank you BJ Heating and Cooling for having honest and knowledgeable workers! We will definitely be using your company again!

When I turned my furnace on a couple of weeks ago, nothing happened! So, I called BJ Heating and Cooling and they wanted to send someone right then to help me – but, I wasn’t going to be there. They sent Tyler the next day and within ten minutes, my furnace was running! He arrived on time, was very knowledgeable and professional and best of all – he fixed my problem! I would recommend BJ Heating and Cooling to my family and friends. (September 2023) July 2024 – BJ sent Jason to clean and check my outdoor system and he found a couple of things wrong: my capacitor needed changing and I was losing Freon. He added Freon and we will keep checking the system. Jason was extremely knowledgeable about the whole system, explained everything very well and was very professional in his work. I would recommend BJ Heating and Cooling to my friends and neighbors! Thanks!
