Sales rep came for a diagnostic is best to describe my experience. Our exterior heat pump unit has coolant leak in multiple areas on the lineset. I called for a diagnostic and repair quote. Instead I got a repair estimate at $8k and an agreesive sale pitch for a price quote to replace both exterior units and the handler or furnace comes for free at $23k…for free lol (the cost is definitely in that price point). Mind you…I am a General Contractor. I have subs that do HVAC and further I have some knowledge in these unit and I know they are old (we just purchased the property) however 1 unit does not have an issue and works fine. I wanted a diagnostic on the existing broken unit…from a certified company and rep…that’s not what I got for $280.00. What I did get was a $280.00 sales pitch on my dime. Rep was nice and professional salesman…but I just wanted to pay for a diagnostic test to understand what I needed and prepare for cost and options. I get this is a service company that’s why I called. But no service just 2 crazy expensive estimates. Cool. Way to hustle $280.00 for a sales call not a diagnostic call. I didn’t even get a diagnostic report, not evan a small summary what was wrong with the unit..just a repair cost. What exactly did I pay for…$90.00 diagnostic if u buy their services they sell you…if not it’s $280.00. I mean can I get what I paid for. Hmmmm…anyway was not pleased with the experience. I’m always out here trying to network and make friends…it’s my nature as a GC. Guess they’re not.

Northwest Expert Heating, Cooling, and Electrical offered a very fair price for a good product. The employee who came out to give me an estimate, Christopher, was very friendly and professional. The install was quick and mostly seamless. My only complaint is that the electrical inspection for the upgraded breaker panel failed three separate times- the first time for an issue with the grounding wire, the second time for an issue with how they connected to the PSE box on the exterior of my house, and the third time for an issue with the surge protector install on the breaker panel. The fourth inspection passed, however I wasn’t able to get PSE to turn the power back on at my house until this passed inspection, so I was running my house on a generator for a few weeks. I called Northwest Expert Heating, Cooling, and Electrical and told them that the inspection kept failing causing my house to not have power for a few weeks and asked them for some sort of compensation for their error. They told me they would look into it and let me know, but they never got back to me and never compensated me. If it weren’t for the multiple failed electrical inspections and lack of compensation for me having to run my house on a generator for almost three weeks due to their error, I would give them a 5 star, but with these issues I am giving them a 3 star.
