Our family’s experience with Wired Electrical Services has been very disappointing. We initially chose Wired due to the exceptional service of Brian Caroon, whose salesmanship and personality won us over despite receiving less expensive quotes. We also had positive interactions with the trench diggers and Josh, one of the technicians who installed the generator and control panels. However, these positive experiences were overshadowed by poor service from the front office, especially regarding scheduling. Our installation process was divided into three phases, requiring five separate appointments for Wired to access our gated property. As working professionals, we adjusted our schedules based on the front office’s availability. However, the scheduling was inaccurate, and we were never notified when appointments were missed or delayed. We had to call multiple times to confirm appointments, and the staff, particularly Raina, displayed horrible phone etiquette and a hostile attitude. They even suggested we leave the gate unsecured for the workers’ convenience. The trench diggers tracked mud and dirt across our paved areas and promised someone would come to powerwash the sidewalk and driveway. Despite repeatedly bringing this up to the front office and Brian, the power washing never happened. Thankfully, we were present during the installation process, as the wrong generator was going to be installed. Brian promptly rectified the mistake. The inspection didn’t pass the first time due to depth issues. The inspector offered to pass the project with a concession, but we couldn’t reach anyone in the front office. Again, we contacted Brian, who explained the situation. Our second call from Raina was rude, and she dismissed the inspector’s concerns while still scheduling the dig team to come out again. After the trench was filled, a supposed 10-12 inch wide trench along our yard’s perimeter turned into a two-foot-wide unearthed area with missing grass and uneven soft spots. This presented a hazard for my grandkids. The dig team said they weren’t authorized to do anything more. Brian explained that Wired doesn’t do landscaping and the contract outlined this. Despite our concerns, there was no further response, and the power washing request was ignored. Our generator kicked in during the July 7 storm but shut off after 6-8 hours, leaving us without electricity. We discovered oil covering the bottom of the generator casing and the oil level was extremely low. Despite being sold on 24-hour service availability, no one answered our calls and our voicemails went unreturned. When we finally reached someone during business hours, we were told we could be put on a waitlist for service the following day or schedule an appointment for Friday. After waiting all day for a callback, we contacted Raina, who claimed there was no record of our previous call. Her attitude was even worse, and she implied we should stop calling and wait for them to contact us about technician availability. We have not received any response to our after-hours messages. A week later, we still haven’t come up for service from the waitlist. We were told they are helping hundreds of customers with generator service needs. This delay in service raises concerns about either the workmanship of the generator from Generac or the installation from Wired. If hundreds of people all needed service at the same time, especially in my case where the dirt is still fresh from the install, then I may need to consider a legal investigation. While we understand Houston is experiencing power outages, the lack of communication and service from Wired is unacceptable. Given the front office’s poor customer service, we question the quality of the installation and the generator’s durability. Our expensive investment in Wired and Generac (Honeywell) is not worth it. During such an already stressful time, we shouldn’t be a week without power from a generator installed less than a month before the storm. I don’t feel confident telling family and friends where we bought the generator.

Worst customer service ever. Despite knowing Beryl was headed our way, Wired Electrical wholly failed having and instituting an emergency preparedness plan. Their very defensive Facebook comments state they had a plan, yet no one answers their phone (we’ve been calling for 6 days now and they state they are “overwhelmed”) and their out-going message is their regular message and doesn’t inform customers how best to reach them during the storm’s aftermath. Not a plan. They finally began telling people on their Facebook page to send a PM on Facebook. Our PM back from Wired merely stated we were now “on the waitlist” (but not from when I 1st called 2 days before that FB contact) and that they had “thousands of calls and messages for service” and they couldn’t tell us when we would be reached. Again, not a plan. This is day 7 of no power and our whole house generator doesn’t operate. I wish I could turn back time and purchase from a better company. There’s a lot more out there. Stay away from Generators by Wired & Wired Electrical.

Recommended by someone who’d done business with them. I needed some basic maintenance parts to do some service on my Generac and for friends and family after Beryl. The sign on the main door directed me to another door for “Parts.” The man behind the door acted shocked I was there for parts behind the “parts” door. He asked another employee, and she informed me that the parts department isn’t open on Saturdays (not noted on Google and didn’t notice a sign to that effect). They also were not taking service appointments ( understandable given the circumstances). So, “open” but for what? A real head scratcher of a place.

extremely disappointed by the lack of communication. No one picks up the phone or returns calls. Wired installed my generator about 3 years ago. I got my generator repaired by them in May (error code 1902) after struggling through no power after the Derecho. Took them two weeks to send someone. ( the technician was fantastic though) Now we lose power in Beryl and after 3 days of working fine the generator goes off again – same error code. No one is picking up or answering voice mails. Meanwhile we are struggling through this heat and not getting what we paid a lot of money for just a month ago. Where’s the accountability?

Update to company’s response: What you’re doing in your response is defamation of character. I’ll happily post all of my emails to see if any would think anything I’ve done could possibly be considered harassment. All I’ve done is call and email to see when y’all are showing up since you didn’t come to our appointment we scheduled weeks ago. Our generator was never installed correctly, it is still under warranty and yall are refusing to fix this breaking your contract with us. All my husband said, which your calling harassment, is say he was going to tell his subscribers yall aren’t a good company and sue yall if you kept refusing to show up to fix what you are contractually obligated to fix. So now he will be serving yall for breach of contract and I implore anyone looking at this company for a generator to look elsewhere. My husband and I had a generator installed in the fall. We realized over a month ago that the generator is not turning on automatically when the power goes out. We contacted the company about the issue. They sent someone out two weeks later and said the fixed the issue. A week goes by and it’s the day we test the generator and again it cranks and cranks and won’t turn on. I emailed them to let them know and they put us off another two weeks. Well a hurricane hits the day before our scheduled appointment. Of course the generator does not turn on, this our sump pump doesn’t work and our yard turns into a lake. We contact the company, no response. Day of our appointment I email and call and finally get a response that they’re running behind. Then I hear nothing else and no one shows. I call and email all morning the next day and they tell us they aren’t going to come out until Friday even though our generator is barely functioning- it’s making popping noises and the voltage is all over the place, so our wifi, fridge and AC is not working. Here is the kicker- we had an electrician and plumber look at it to see what’s going on and the natural gas line inside it cut which is why it can’t make enough power and is leaking gas around our house, yet they said we were NOT an emergency case…. I hope they come out tomorrow. This is ridiculous!

Installed a generator in October. First time we needed it (2 months ago) the generator did not start. Called for service and we’re made to wait 2 weeks. Technician came and said it would work and run every Wednesday at noon for testing (as it should have been setup when installed). Next Wednesday it didn’t start. We called to have it fixed and we’re given an appointment 2 weeks later (happens to be the day after beryl). Paid to have someone there for the appointment and they no showed saying “they had emergency calls and were trying to service everyone”. They already should have had my emergency on the books because we are now out 28k for a backup generator and STILL do not have any power for be two storms this year. They then tried to say they can make another appointment for my Friday where I will be without power for 5 days. That is obviously not acceptable and they are just not making their screw up right and prioritizing new revenue and pushing customers who have already paid for their service. Had another plumber out to inspect and found an easily noticable leak in the fuel line inside the generator which was contaminating the fuel supply with air and leaking natural gas all over the place. If they do not fix it in the morning I will be taking them to court for consequential damages for the lost landscaping, food and mold issues that will arise from not having power. I will update the review tomorrow. Obviously they don’t care about anyone once they have your money. A generator that was supposed to be installed correctly in October has been not working and leaking natural gas for 10 months because of their faulty install and not working. They canceled my appointment to take on new customers and tried to push me a week where I would not have power. I will be filing a suit for fraud and consequential damages and you will be able to look up the suit on Google. I’ll make sure to include generac in the suit as well so they are dragged into this so they can make their own analysis of wired.

Wired’s salesman did a great job selling me on a whole home generator and the monthly monitoring for peace of mind. The installation techs did a great job installing the generator. The generator saved us soon after, running 10 straight days after the derecho. However, the generator started showing an alert/warning after 7 days of running saying it needed schedule A maintenance (oil change mainly). I never heard from the monitoring service regarding this. I sent an email to the Wired email address displayed in the MobileLink app but never received a response. I called Wired a couple weeks later about the lack of communication and a desire to cancel the monitoring service. I was given a new email to send that request to. I never received a response within 10 days. I decided to call Wired again to cancel and this time I was told I might have to pay for another 30 days for some reason and also that the person who I need to talk to in order to cancel wasn’t there and they had to leave a message for them. I am still stuck trying to cancel. Do not get the monthly monitoring service. Wired is unresponsive and I’m not convinced they actually do any monitoring. It has also been impossible to actually cancel the service. They also charge an exorbitant amount for an oil change (nearly $300). I decided to save myself $250 and change it myself in 5-10 minutes. Update after Wired’s reply: My generator still hasn’t hit the 6 month interval. The reason the maintenance is called “Schedule A” is because it can be hit via time or hours run. The hours run mark is 7 days worth. We were almost halfway to the Schedule B maintenance interval (14 days) for the 2nd oil change (and air filter) and still hadn’t heard anything from Wired. This is akin to driving 20k miles between oil changes but saying it is fine because it hasn’t hit the 1 year mark yet. I’ll re-iterate that I would never rely on Wired to prioritize my generator’s service/maintenance needs.

Our experience with Wired ES has been horrible, one start is too generous. They pride themselves on “quality service”, quality service stopped as soon as they take your money. Our generator blew a rod in the engine, at the time it was only 11 months old, so still under warranty. We asked for a tech to come out… we called 4 days in a row before a tech was sent out. After 2 conversations with Generac, and three weeks later, Wired never sent any information to Generac requesting a new engine. Also, they have the most rude girls answering the phones. Do not call Wired ES for a wholehouse generator.
