This company is aweful. It was contracted through Lowe’s to install a generator, and it’s as if they had never installed one before. They charged more than they should have, had no idea who was responsible for doing anything, and left it to the homeowner to basically schedule everything. It has been over 2 months, and generator is still not operational. Terrible experience.

The only thing “reliable” about this company is their inconsistency. I had the displeasure of using this company through a contract basis and they couldn’t have done a worse job. Actually, they could have, if they ever showed up. Had an appointment for Friday and they wouldn’t come because it was 3:30 and too close to the weekend, but guaranteed they’d be here before 12:00 noon on Monday. They never showed up, and when I called hours later to their office I was told, “I don’t know where the technician is but I can tell you he won’t be coming today.” I mentioned that we had an appointment before noon, why won’t he be coming at all now, and I received the wonderful answer of “I know you had the appointment, but they won’t be coming today.” Wonderful. I called the company who hired Reliable and told them to find me someone knew, only THEN to be contacted by the technician who acted surprised I was upset that he missed two appointments! Avoid this company if you actually need work done. If you’re in the market to spend money without work getting done, then they’re 5 stars.

I just had more electrical problems. I call reliable no help at all. I have used. Them for 10yrs up till now. I have Pruett elec over my house now. Everything reliable did was 100% wrong. The main breaker they changed was never hooked up correctly. This could have caused my house to burn down. To much to list. DO NOT USE THIS GROUP OF GUYS.

The electrical business is fine, good work at reasonable prices. The HVAC business is a mess. They installed our new HVAC system in 2017. Two service calls over the next 10 months didn’t resolve my suspicions about the system not working right. In May 2019, they performed a spring maintenance check-up. 12 days later, the outside unit started to short-cycle, and two phone calls to them resulted in zero visits over two days with the unit continuing to malfunction. A day later, 3 days after the problems began, they called and said they had no one to send to the house. No suggestions, no apologies, just we can’t send anyone out there. I called another HVAC company, they came the next day and quickly diagnosed the problem, which in my opinion should have been noticed during the check-up. Needless to say, we have a different HVAC servicer now, and I’m waiting for a refund of my maintenance contract fee from Reliable. They should change their name to Un-Reliable.

We heard the crash- the kitchen chandelier had torn out of the ceiling and glass shattered everywhere. Reliable Electric had installed it 13 months ago. Their electrician, D., arrived at our home a few minutes before I did and my wife let him in. He arrived seething with anger and hostility- my wife said she felt threatened having him in the house. When I got home D. was still steaming mad and was basically shouting at me that it wasn’t their fault and it’s only a 12 month warranty and besides we probably did something to make it happen and so on. When I tried to ask him if he would let me complete a sentence he continued to shout so I walked to another room and he left the house. (My new electrician explained that the deck-style screws Reliable had put into the plastic ceiling can were a little too big and eventually the plastic split.) His boss (the owner?) Rich called the next day. He wasn’t yelling but it was clear customer retention was not a priority for him. No apology for D’s behavior, tried to blame us for the failure, no offer to make good on this (they had done many projects here), no ‘I’ll split it with you’ for what would be 1-2 hours of effort. “Reliable”?- nope.

We used Reliable Electric Heating & Air to upgrade the electric service for our new Tanning Salon located on 17 Bypass S in Myrtle Beach. We worked closely with the owner, field men and office staff. I have to say without them we would not be up and running today. They were all a call away when we had any questions or concerns. Everyone at Reliable was more than willing to help. I would hire them over and over again. My family will be forever grateful to have found the right company for our nerve wracking adventure.

To all that may concern I am with a company in Myrtle Beach South Carolina and we gave reliable electric heating and air the opportunity to do some HVAC work for us. After excepting three or four quotes we found reliable the least by far. After talking to the supervisor A second time I wanted to clarify to him and give him a heads up that he was half the price as other companies and if he was awarded the job I expected the same quality and assurance that the job would be done professionally and completed at a reasonable time frame. Unfortunately that never happened, that old saying you get what you paid for comes to mind, I wish we would have even got that’ but their quality of work was so far below standard and their workmanship was very poor. We had to have them back out four times within the first couple of weeks, finally the supervisor informed-me that he was not coming back out after that time. Although the HVAC unit did work for a time within the year it fell apart coming through the ceiling causing a lot of water damage and mess and also causing the shut down a part of our store resulting in loss of sales and additional repair cost. I will never use this company again and hope that this review helps in educating how unprofessional and unreliable reliable electric heating and air really are
