Excellent experience! We considered several installer companies and ultimately went with Gen Ready because they were the cheapest and envisioned the least disruptive method for wiring it up, which at first actually made us a little nervous (“is a whole-house generator install really a place you want to cut corners?”), but it turned out they weren’t cutting corners at all; they just weren’t finding ways to pad the invoice like other companies were. Throughout the process not only did they do a professional, top-of-the-line install but they actually found other ways to save us money along the way. Since the time of the install (around last August), we’ve lost grid power 3 times, and every time the generator has immediately kicked on, powered the house without issue, and returned to standby as soon as grid returned. Fully satisfied customers and thrilled we made the right choice!

I just had a phone conversation with this company and found the person providing the rough estimate to be rude and insulting. . When I informed her that her instal price of over 10k was almost double other quotes I have received, she insulted me by saying she was sorry that I couldn’t afford it. The fact is that nobody should pay an unfair price. I went through Costco so I will also be informing them of the vendors they do business with. Do your homework. In today’s economy nobody should be overcharged.

(Original) GenReady installed a 26 KW Generac home backup generator at my home in Nov 2022. Dealing with them at every step has been a pleasure. They answer the phone quickly when I call, respond quickly to emails and did a thorough and neat job installing and explaining the details of my generator. I called a few companies to get estimates and I’m very particular about work that is done on my home (I have an engineering degree). Their down payment and payment plan was very fair and reasonable, and their work and their responsiveness excellent. I have dealt with Ed Reiff, Lindsay Reiff, Andrew Reiff and Amanda Rehder and Pam Barbieri, and they have all been friendly, helpful and responsive! (Update) It had been a year since my generator was installed and operational, so I recently had the annual maintenance done. It was late, and while the technician did a neat job and made note of some protective padding that needed replacement, he forgot to do a battery check I had requested. I left a message and Andrew Reiff called me that night to rectify the issue. He came out a few days later, replaced that heat padding and performed the battery check. The battery was fine. Note that I had asked for the extra check because my first battery had failed after a few months. The unit did flag the issue, but only after a power switchover by the electric company, so I wanted extra confirmation. By the way, GenReady sent a technician out very quickly to confirm and fix that earlier battery issue. I am still quite happy with their service!

Every single step was smooth, well-timed, and effortless on our part. Communication was beyond professional. From estimate to final inspection, the process could not have been handled better. Cannot recommend the business highly enough. Best part; I never had to deal with subcontractors.

A crew arrived right at the appointment time, coordinated their indoor/outdoor actions and completed the task of disconnecting and hauling away the old unit and connecting the new unit very efficiently. The indoor portion was completed with the same professionalism. We were inconvenienced with no electricity for less time than originally estimated. They used drop cloths and swept clean the work areas. We could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you

GenReady did a fantastic job of installing my Generac whole house generator. Mark and the crew including Anthony from the gas line installation company were fully equipped to do the job. They explained everything to me. Each was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and meticulous. When they were finished my home was left spotless. I would surely recommend GenReady as the right choice for a generator.

Just driving down the street in deer park and trying to follow the traffic. This businesses truck tries to run me off the road. The man driving seemed angry for reasons still unknown. Thankfully, another driver saw what was happening and moved so I could get in front of them and avoid hitting the curb. The road eventually split into two lanes and the truck thought it was a good idea To tailgate me down most of Commack Road from deer park into Commack. Thankfully a cop was passing by and I started honking my horn at them and eventually the driver stopped tailgating me and turned down onto veterans highway toward the LIE. This happened this Thursday afternoon between 3:30-3:40pm. Very unsafe driver and so I can only imagine how safe they do a job. If this is who they hire then I’d be scared for my home because they clearly do not care about courtesy, the rules of the road, professionalism, or humanity. Attempting to create car accidents and traffic nightmares is not a way to advertise your business. Unfortunately, I didn’t see a truck ID number but was able to notice the name of the business and the phone number. I wish my car had cameras so all could see that they were centimeters from my bumper at almost all times. I’m glad I don’t have road rage like he clearly did but it did leave me a bit shaken up.
