AVOID AT ALL COSTS. As plenty other online reviews say, we have just had a horrible experience with Deerfield Electric. They sent Scott Prais to look at our breaker box, which had some condensation, and agreed to a fee of 155 an hour for an emergency call out. Scott finished looking within half an hour and gave us his recommendation. He asked if there was anything else we wanted him to look at and I said no. I left the house for work as he was packing up, and all of a sudden he notices an ’emergency fix’ that needed doing, and proceeds to go ahead with the work without talking or explaining it to my wife. I believe he was slow-walking the job to increase his charges. On a phone call to the boss, Mario, he uses overused and manipulative statements about our family being in danger, and threatens to call the inspector on us (for work that his guy just did). Avoid at all costs. In my opinion they are the unfortunate pirates that give honest tradesmen a poor name.

called Deerfield electric to look at three ceiling fans that were originally wall switch and remote control operated but not working properly. The serviceman Juan came and took at look at them and told me that the remote control receiver in the fan is malfunctioning and he would just pull that receiver which would just have them work via the wall switch. He did this to two of them but the third one he kept the receiver since he stated both remote and wall switch were working. No issues with him at all, very nice guy. They charged me $415 for that work. Later in the day when I checked the work myself I see that the room that he kept the remote control receiver in is not actually working properly and the wall switch does not control the fan. I called them the same day to let them know. Juan said he must have forgot to check the switch and he would come and correct the issue the next day, which he did and it took him all of five minutes to correct. No mention of any fees when he left since it was implicit that that issue was due to not checking everything properly. At this point I am happy and have no complaints. Two weeks later I get another bill in the mail from them for service. I called and spoke to the owner Mario and told him I was blind sighted with this bill and that I don’t agree with it since this was not a new issue but correcting an issue that was missed in the initial service. Furthermore they did not tell me of any additional fees when they came back the following day. Mario, was not even present for anything and ignorantly states that switch was not supposed to control the fan and this was my fault for using the switch to control the fan when I came to check the fan. Apparently using the switch to control the fan caused the remote control receiver to no longer function. This makes absolutely no sense who in the right mind would think that using a wall switch to control a fan is wrong and cause the receiver to go bad. What’s the point of having a wall switch then. This guy is honestly trying to squeeze money out of me and giving me a dishonest response. Being honest is a virtue lost with this guy and because of this I am giving him one star. I was going to call these guys back for a ton of more electrical stuff I wanted done but not anymore.

I can not say how there work is, but at least on of the drivers is Very Reckless. On 12-11-19 at about 5:30 am I was on Wilson Rd in Round lake area. I was going about 8 miles over the limit. When this vehicle, never slowed down and went flying past me, at least at 65 or 70. He passed on a double yellow around a curve. Then at the next light there he was, no farther than me. I got his truck #52. Then we went left onto rt 60 to Fairfield Rd which he turned south. Before he turned right, there were cars in front of him. So instead of waiting, he drove on shoulder of road to pass people up, again he was driving fast especially on side of road. Once he got to the regular area that has the turn lane to go right, another car made a correct right turn, but the van driver almost rear-ended him, since he was driving on shoulder at a fast pace. Again, I am not saying how there work is, but if this driver is a example, I would not be happy.

When I called I Spoke to a person not a recording which is unusual now a days. I was able schedule an appointment for next day service with Lilly. The service technician arrived on time and cleaned up after the job was performed. I was impressed! If you want a qualified electrician who performs excellent work call Deerfield Electric ! I certainly found my go to company for all of my electrical needs.
