My wife scheduled an appointment for an electrician to visit our DR Horton, Templar representative confirmed the appointment, so my wife and I arranged our schedule, took a day off making sure we are present at home when the electrician comes. Appointment was for 10am, nobody showed up. My wife called at 1pm to follow up and Templar Electric representative informed us that the electrician cannot come due to an emergency. If there was truly an emergency, it would be proper if they informed us right away and not wait for us to call them. Additionally, just to schedule the appointment, my wife and I did multiple calls, were transferred and directed to call different numbers a couple of times, were put on hold for several minutes. That should be fine if the appointment happened. The bad thing is the appointment was canceled without our knowledge. We were offered a different date — the next day, as a solution that clearly not possible for us. Therefore, an honest review would say Templar Electric has inefficient personnel addressing customer concerns and does bad customer service.

Don’t call them at all. After my home warranty period expired. They wouldn’t answer the phone. They were called during my home warranty period. When they did answer they had a bunch of excuses and delays to come and fix their trash install. I went through all of my light switches and fixtures. To cut and trim the shady work. They shoved 12-18 inches of wire in a 4×4 box or 2×4 box. The work was so bad. It didn’t look like a licensed professional had installed it. I had a few electricians complain about their installation. Don’t waste your time or money. Trash Company and Very unprofessional.

Templar team came and replaced my breakers that were stolen. They were on time and efficient the day they came out. Communicated with me about the missing breakers and I’ll definitely be using them again!

Some of the work they did on my new house was subpar. Some of the light fixtures were barely hanging with just one screw. Now I have to go to the hardware store and get matching screws. They also used plastic electrical boxes in the light fixtures as well. I’m getting ready to install ceiling fans soon. My neighbor installed ceiling fans and found that some of circuits were over loaded, so the ceiling fan kept tripping their circuit breaker.

Templar came out to check our electric bc our power was shutting off in our bathroom every time we took a hot shower. They decided to switch our exhaust fans for a lower powered model. They cut too big of holes in the ceiling for the fan leaving a gap on the side. Dirty handprints on our walls that we cannot get off. And now we have exhaust fans that do not pull the moisture out of our bathroom although the power will stay on. Please choose someone else to do your service. Edit to review. Sent an email and when they were told that DR Horton contracted them for the repair. We have received no response.

When your employees are so blatantly and openly disrespectful and calling customers jerks and not following up with customers or service for months at a time, that is a direct reflection on its leadership team. Employees will do as much as leadership let them. Someone at the top of Templar electric leadership is not thinking globally. Leadership nor the employees are looking out for their stockholders, customers or future growth. They’re willing to sacrifice the company being lazy and disrespectful not following up and not responding to all the complaints they have. What a terrible waste of a God given blessing to have a nation wide business. Shame on the CEO, President, Managers and district managers. Read your reviews.

IQ Panel installed and setup for exclusive use with Z wave devices (thermostat, door lock, doorbell with camera, and light switch for outdoor lights) as included with new DR Horton house. Worked okay for awhile. Then had a problem within first year, supposedly under warranty. Contacted Templar. Response via email from Templar was not good. Because we don’t pay for the monthly security monitoring, they are only required to give me basic written instructions. I escalated the issue. Then a tech guy called me and said he heard I had a problem. I explained. He offered no apology. So obviously he didn’t want to deal with me. Well, I will never deal with Templar. One of the worse responses to a customer I’ve ever experienced. Warranty person with DR Horton was not happy. She escalated to Templar corporate. They left me a voicemail. So I give Templar Corporate some credit, but too little too late. Two different people, same horrible response. Speaks volumes to the culture there at Templar Security.
