I am sorry to have to write this review but feel compelled based on how terrible our experience was. The summary is that, based on our experience: you should not hire Project Express unless you want to pay highest-bid-level prices for terrible quality work that takes much longer than expected with no accountability from management and ownership. The longer version is this: We had a flood in the basement and needed to have the drywall and door trim fixed where flood cuts were made. We met with Alex for his quote and although his bid was the highest of the three we got ($2,700), he presented himself well and indicated a professional delivery of services. He told us at the time of quote that it would take two days: one day for drywall cutting and mudding, and one for sanding and finishing. After four days of work, the workers indicated as they left that the project was finished and we could paint in the morning. The work product was pretty terrible, as seen in some of the attached pictures. I texted Alex the pictures and he agreed that it was unacceptable. The workers came back for two more days, and then pronounced the project complete again. Again, the work was clearly unacceptable. I asked Alex to come out to see for himself, and he agreed that the work was unacceptable. He said he would have his boss, Jon (the owner) come out later that week to complete the project. He also provided a quote to do the baseboards. The quote for the baseboards was $1,700. We did not accept the quote on the spot but he “found a discount” later that evening and reduced the quote by almost $500, which feels shady. When Alex and Jon came back a few days later, they arrived around 2pm and said that they could not finish it as it would a full day’s work at least. This required us to reschedule the carpet install that we had planned. This project was now up to seven work days instead of the two originally promised, and still not completed. Their workers (the same team as before) came out for another three days to complete the project. On the final day, Alex came by and did the final walkthrough before the workers were finished because he had somewhere else he needed to be. He asked for the final check before work was even completed, and I expressed my dissatisfaction with how everything went and how inconvenient it had all been. I asked if he could do anything on the final price and was told no, flat out. From the start, all I expected was professional looking drywall and trim work and what I got was worse than if a total amateur who didn’t care had done all the work. The contract indicated that everything would be cleaned as well, but the pictures attached show that wasn’t the case at all. The worker that left on that final day mentioned that he had someone coming to my house to work on the drywall who said he knew how to work drywall but, as it turned out, had never done drywall work before. I emailed Jon (the owner) about my dissatisfaction and asked if we could do anything about sharing the pain of how badly this had gone. He said he would offer me a discount on the baseboard project. I can’t imagine him actually believing that I could have any faith in hiring them for another project after how this went. I told him that I had installed the baseboard myself already and asked what else we could do. I never got an email response to that but did receive a check in the mail one week later for $77. A $77 credit amounts to less than 3% of the total fee for the project. I really can’t imagine a worse experience from beginning to end. For what it’s worth: I see two other Google reviews. For people considering the ratings and reviews, that Alex who rated Project Express five stars happens to be same Alex who works for Project Express and managed this project. That probably gives you a decent idea for how this company does business.

I hired Ohio Valley Painting and carpentry to remodel my bathroom in my new house, ed was professional, knowledgable, polite, came up with ideas for such a small area that I wouldn’t have ever thought of. He quoted me a reasonable price and was able to do it under budget, they cleaned up after themselves, was prompt, courteous to my family and neighbor, the bathroom come out so much better than i ever envisioned in my head from the paint choices, to the cabinets and tile work, 10/10 will use him in the future for my remodeling needs

Fabian did a nice job of organizing his crew and getting the project completed. They worked diligently to complete the project in a timely manner. The quality of the work was very good. They cleaned up the site and left the project as they found it. I would definitely use them again.
