We have an issue with our sunroom ceiling leaking and Danny was supposed to show up on June 18 at Noon. At 12:15 I texted him to see if he was running late. He responded he had to stop by the office and would be there in about 45 minutes. He didn’t let me know he was running late and I had made special arrangements to be at home from Noon to 1. Obviously being 45 minutes late was not going to work. I realize things happen and gave him the benefit of doubt and rescheduled with him for today, June 27, at 10:00 AM. Once again I made arrangements to be here during that time. Needless to say he didn’t show up. So, based on my experience I would definitely NOT recommend Sunshine Sunrooms. My guess is their lack of professionalism encompasses not only their sales department but also their contractors and subcontractors as well.

These poor folks do not know what took place 2 days prior to today. On Friday I called and spoke with Penny who said she was going to have a man named Jerry Lackey come to look at a patio roof that had been damaged. She was going to call me back as soon as she knew the time he could be there. I never got a call back so I called back Saturday to find they were not open on ther weekends and I needed to wait until Monday to try to reach someone. After spending most of the morning trying to reach someone other than the phone service I finally was able to speak with Penny again. She could not remember making the appointment for him to come and said she would see if he was able to or not. Very difficult to deal with and do not remember what they schedule. Incompetency is what best describes this business.

Barry Hicks and Jair Nunuz and their guys with Sunshine Remodeling did a fabulous job painting, repairing trim, replacing doors, installing light fixtures and fans, replacing siding, and more for my daughter and her husband summer 2022 when they had just bought a house and wanted to get the house ready to move into. Barry and his guys did a big remodel on my home in N Dallas back in 2008. We enclosed the garage and turned it into a home office and expanded mudroom with big closet, added an attached 3-car garage, removed an interior wall, replaced all interior walls and much more. It was a big project. Barry knows his stuff and will tell you if he thinks he is a good fit for the job. He will make sure the work is done right and on time. His guys show up every day and clean up at the end of the day. Barry and Jair and their entire team are great to work with.

I have been trying for several months to schedule for Terry to come out and quote and install replacement Heating and Cooling unit and to repair door that will not shut properly. I already have the unit purchased to install. It’s sitting in the middle of the living room taking up space. Was also hoping to get more information on potential future updates/additions that we were hoping to have done next year. I’ve called and left a few messages, spoke to someone on the phone 3 times, sent requested images. Finally contacted them a few weeks back and left a message asking to at least let me know they weren’t interested in the project so that I could reach out to another company. Still nothing. Needed the AC for the heat, now need the heating for the cold. The space is useless until repairs are made, and the house cluttered do to temperature sensitive items that can not be stored in the sun room taking up space in the house.

This is an update to my original post. The staff came back out and fixed the roof and the door and sent me a bill and completely ignored my foundation issue. Terry told me almost two years ago that he would come out again and look at the foundation issue. I am still waiting. And now the door will not close again. Not surprising but I am more angry. I cannot sit in there and relax anymore because I look around at the tile and the door and get so angry and upset. Do NOT use this company unless you enjoy just throwing your money away. (Original post)The sunroom turned out beautiful. However, many problems less than 5 years after the project is complete and I get blown off. They did come back out and fix the door that always expands or shrinks due to hot and cold weather temps. To the point couldn’t close it all the way. Fixed it and then when winter came back around, it wouldn’t stay closed unless it was locked. When you are outside, that’s an issue. Now that it’s hot again, it won’t close again! As for my floor, the tile I laid cracked straight across the room, which aligns where my old concrete meets the new concrete they laid. Terry blaming on me laying the tile badly but it is only in the straight line exactly where the old slab meets the new concrete. I was not at home when he came by but my oldest adult daughter was and she said he didn’t even go look at the slab on the outside of the sunroom. Second roof and this roof has started to blow off with light wind. As of the last storm, that middle strip came all the way off. Too many issues for a short period. For the money spent, I would have expected better quality and more than a year warranty. Now I know why. Used partner Barry and his crew once for a bathroom construction issue and was very impressed with his business and customer service skills.

Sunshine Sunrooms is our go to company with any repair issues. Sunshine painted and handled repairs at my mom’s home before selling it. We’ve had them paint, take care of leaks, change faucets and any number of repairs. Honestly, there isn’t anyone I trust more!

Barry and his crew always do an outstanding job. Great design and whatever the project it turns out right. Used them for years and would entrust them with any remodeling project.

Everyone was very professional and the project was completed as described. The Florida room is wonderful!
