Great job! I’m very pleased with my new sunroom. The salesman took a great deal of time explaining the materials to be used and the layout of the windows. The installation was quick, once the windows arrived. The two man crew did a nice job cleaning up afterwards.

Overall we had a good experience with Southern Leisure Builders. The project did take longer than initially promised due to some oversights (I was told the office forgot to schedule the inspector which delayed our project a few days). We were pleased with the end result and are excited to enjoy our screen room!

In every respect, the quality of the work done by Souther Leisure exceeded my expectations. I had a raised deck that was 12 by 40. I had them construct a roof over half of it and screen that section in. I found the materials used to be stronger and heavier than anticipated. I also had the EZ Breeze stretched vinyl windows installed. They turned the space into a 3-season room. I also had 1000 sq ft screened in on the lower level. All doors fit perfectly, and similar quality materials were used. Both crews were great and obviously cared about their work. The pricing was fair for the quality of the work. My only disappointment was the length of time the project took. Since I live on water, there were many permits required and the company was poor about following up with the various inspectors. Overall, the job took about twice as long as initially expected. I gave them 4 stars overall. I would rank the work as 5 star. I knocked them down one star for the delays.

Would NOT recommend these builders for those in the Wilmington area, and I will not be utilizing them for any further projects (I.e, window replacements, future patios, etc.). The only reason I give them 3 stars is because my porch is screened in now (although, will state below, is not perfect). The project I requested was to screen in a patio with an existing roof. I was told this was a very simple project and would be completed in approximately 60-90 days. To start with, their sales people and initial interactions were cordial and timely, but after signing a contract, it went downhill pretty quick, and it seemed like a bait and switch tactic. The sales person stated they would be here through the process and could be contacted, however it was stated after that this person would not be involved. Intro email from company outlined timeline and when I would be contacted for each step – none of it was true throughout the process. The company did not communicate well, and I had to call to check in with them on every step of the project. I do not think it would have been completed within several months if I hadn’t stayed on them. They are based out of Jacksonville and made it seem like an inconvenience to come out to the Monkey Junction area in Wilmington, and they should not service the area if it is too far for them. The builders themselves were very kind and easy to work with, but the people in the office and top of the org are terrible to deal with. Waited at one point for a month with no word, so when I contacted them for an update, they said they were waiting on me for my HOA approval letter. I had emailed the approval letter to the company a month prior, and told the contractor the day of pre-measure, that I was emailing the approval letter to the office. They had received it a month prior and did not document it, nor check in to see the status of the letter. They only called me twice: 1. To let me know the day before building they would be coming out. This was after I had called them multiple times, and they didn’t show up that day and did not call to say they were rescheduling due to weather. 2. To tell me I needed to pay the rest of my invoice, which had already been paid off. Regarding the project itself, it looks good, but the panels appear put up haphazardly, and you can see through some areas where the panels are not level. On the second day of installation, I was told by the builder that they needed to finish caulking and fixing some of the paneling, and that he would be back on Saturday for the final touches. Never heard from them again, and no one came out for these corrections. The only call I received after was asking for me to pay the remainder of the bill, which, I had already paid in full. I had paid cash along with my deposit and it had not been recorded in their records, and I received an overdue invoice for it. Thankfully, they realized I had paid the cash and settled the invoice. The whole process was unnecessarily stressful and the employees need to communicate better within their teams and with customers. EDIT **response to company Adding a picture of the email referenced. I was NEVER called or contacted for a pre-measure. I called YOU after 4 weeks to confirm when it was, and you had it scheduled for the 1 day I was out of town for work. “We will give you ample notice” – no, I was never provided any notice. Your email states “typically does not require HOA approval or permits”. I contacted the HOA to ensure whether I needed approval, even though your contractors did not recommend it. “From that point on we will keep you informed about your project status periodically, approximately every 3-4 weeks” – I received no phone calls, texts, or emails. “We have tried to reach you several times in order to address your concerns and schedule a post inspection” – you had absolutely no awareness that your builders didn’t complete the job /nor did you intend to ever conduct a post inspection until AFTER I had posted a review. Then you suddenly figured out how to call my phone! Homeowners beware.

The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and warm. They went over every option of patio enclosures they have to offer to fit into your budget. They also added a pergola over my hot tub to match beautifully! I was so impressed with their craftsmanship that I’m a repeat customer in allowing them to custom design my paver patio outside!

Southern Leisure is amazing. We requested repairs on our enclosure and they were able to get it done 1 day after we contacted them. The repair guy was very professional and did an outstanding job. This is the 3rd time that we have had them do something and they never fell to delivery.

My screened in patio turned out great! Recommend them, but ensure you give yourself a couple of months of buffer to get permits and time for everything they need to get done.

Overall experience is a positive one. The person who built our sunroom is Michael and he was outstanding! His demeanor was pleasant, friendly & professional. Michael answered all our questions with patience and affirmations and always arrived at the time he promised. Southern Leisure Builders is fortunate to have such an exemplary employee.
