Phil and G&M Construction did an incredible job in my home: They took a half bath that was in terrible shape and transformed it into a beautiful, modern full bathroom, adding a shower in a space where other contractors told me the design I wanted wouldn’t be possible. They also replaced an old and deteriorating deck as well as the roofing beneath it, completed two rooms worth of flooring, replaced missing baseboards, added new light fixtures, and fixed many banged up walls to make them look brand new. And they did it all at a fair price and in a month. Phil is also just clearly a kind person who cares about his clients. He took time to explain each step to me, and to advise me on ways to maximize my budget. His attention to detail, patience, and work ethic shined through every part of this project. I recommend G&M Construction and Phil wholeheartedly!

G&M Construction Group of NY has completed two different projects for me, and we are about to begin a third. They have rebuilt an entire garage and deck, as well as replaced the windows, siding, and front door(s) on my home. They installed lighting as needed and mitigated any small problems that arose quickly. They have updated the front porch as well. As they sided my home, they removed thousands of pounds of stucco and repaired damage that we were unaware of before siding began. Phil and his team made what was a could have been a very stressful situation calm and easy to work through. Phil is attentive to his clients, present at worksites, and is a very capable problem solver. He demonstrates the ability to present multiple ideas to fit within any budget. His team is respectful and clean, professional and timely. G&M Construction Group does outstanding work; they are highly recommended, and we will absolutely use them again as we continue upgrading our home.

If you’re considering ANY type of home renovation, home improvement, or home construction, you MUST work with Phil at G&M Construction. Believe me when I say that after all the nightmare stories about contractors I’ve heard through the years that I never expected to have such a positive experience that I’d be sitting here writing this. I’m going to be very thorough in what I’m about to write because I hope to help anyone who is doing their homework right now the way I did mine…I know how important any type of home project is because for us this has been THE biggest investment of both money and time that we had to plan for (outside of the purchase of the house itself). From beginning to end, Phil has been the best person we could have ever asked to work with. Let me break down why: ON TIME & AT BUDGET We’ve all heard the adage “over budget and over schedule” when it comes to contractors. I googled this and it turns out that a staggering 91.5% of projects go over budget, over schedule, or both. Phil literally defied the adage by finishing ahead of schedule and right at the cost he had projected. He was conservative at first and made sure to set the proper expectations, but he really listened to our needs about having to be out of our lease by a certain date and he actually shifted things around in his schedule with his other clients to ensure that all the work would be done by that date. On top of it all, as things came up he never suggested the most expensive option; he’d explain when something was necessary but also when it would be a waste of our money. He is the opposite of a salesman trying to upsell. He is a human being who knows what it means to have a dollar amount above which you simply cannot go. He will never compromise quality, but he will try to find you the best option for your dollar that will not come back to bite you in 5 years. Which leads me to: KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE From our windows and sliding doors, to the electrical and plumbing, to the flooring and whitewashing — we used Phil for every aspect of this project because, quite simply, he knows his stuff more than anyone else. He took the time to educate us and then guide and advise us as if we were a family member or a friend, not just a client. CUSTOMER SERVICE As I said before, this was going to be one of our largest expenditures so I was obviously going to put in time doing my homework and research to narrow down to even just a few companies to bring in for the initial estimate. Phil was not only light years ahead of the others in terms of his knowledge and obvious experience, but he was also the first to get us an itemized estimate within 2 days. (Let me stop here and take a moment to say that one of the other companies NEVER got back to me. I called and texted several times with no response. That was July.. I have yet to hear anything. If this is how they are while they’re still trying to land the business I cringe to think about the absolute nightmare we would have lived if we hired them. So while I don’t like bashing companies, I do hope to help other people in the same situation as us — so I will simply say do NOT go with Liz at John Hubler & Sons. That is all.) Since that first day, Phil has remained as consistent and timely with his communications. He’s responded to every call and text within minutes, and has always had an answer and/or solution within the hour. I can’t praise Phil enough — not only is he smart, experienced, quick and resourceful, on top of it all he genuinely cares and is fun to be around. THANK YOU PHIL for turning what we expected to be a nightmare process into a project that was not only smooth but actually enjoyable! You not only transformed our home, you transformed our mindset about contractors. And come next summer, it is going to be YOU that we work with for the even larger project of our backyard makeover. You taught us and guided us and you continue to check in, and we will be recommending you to everyone we know. There is NOBODY better to work with, period.

Fantastic job by G+M! Great crew and workmanship. Started when they scheduled to and completed on time! Phil came to the site daily to check on all aspects of the addition as well as all the renovation work. Highly recommend them!

I used G&M construction for a variety of home remodeling tasks including stair refinishing, wood floor install and tile floor install. The company was fantastic to work with and very responsive to any requests or changes / preferences in the work. Additionally, all of the work was completed in a timely manner and they were very professional. Look forward to working with them again on future construction projects.

My wife and I were looking for a contractor for a major overhaul to our home. We’ve had a few contractors over the years to do some work/repairs to our home but no one we were sold on that could do the kind of renovation we were looking for and feel comfortable about doing it. I got a recommendation for G&M from my neighbor, looked at some google reviews, and saw all the glowing reviews of Phil and his work. I must say they are not overblown! I’ve never dealt with a contractor as dedicated as he is, small or big job. When we first spoke he was upfront and honest about what he saw needing to happen and rough costs, but more so, he noticed a crack in our plumbing that I had overlooked. Our big renovation got put on hold for the immediate need of having our bathroom redone. We didn’t like the bathroom the way it was and it was always a planned renovation, we just weren’t looking to get that done first. However, necessity dictated otherwise. He helped us along every single step of the way, he was always reachable, he constantly was showing up to make sure we were happy, addressing any questions or concerns, keeping us in the loop on all decisions that would need to be made, I could go on and on. His level of attention to detail and work ethic is not something you see often. There is no one I would trust more than Phil for work on our home, his crew was there when he said they’d be there, they themselves were professional and courteous, and their work speaks for itself. The bathroom is beautiful and masterfully done. Thank you Phil and G&M Construction! Now on to the next project with no one else but G&M!

I would highly recommend G&M Construction. I’ve been working with Phil on some improvements on the exterior of my home and he is the epitome of professionalism. He is smart, kind, patient, knowledgeable in sooo many areas, explanatory, reliable, organized, full of good advice and just an overall pleasure! The workers he has sent to my home demonstrate an extension of his work ethic. They are hardworking, helpful, and respectful.What more could you ask for? Neighbors who pass by the house whether by foot or by car have all commented “what a great job he did for you!” In a nutshell, G&M Construction is simply the BEST!
