When our HVAC system failed last month Tim heard about it through the grapevine and asked me if he could bid on the replacement. I know Tim as a neighbor, and I like him, so I said yes. I’m so glad that I did. Our former HVAC provider gave us three separate bids for different replacement options. The systems they offered were pretty standard and their prices were high. Tim’s bid came in several thousand dollars lower than any of the others. Not only that but his bid included adding an additional return air duct to properly balance the system – an improvement he identified – and moving a floor register to a better location. The system Tim recommended is a Mitsubishi heat pump. According to him, Mitsubishi is the industry leader in heat pumps. I had seen many of them during my travels in Japan but didn’t realize they were heat pumps. The installation went smoothly and was completed in one day. We are so happy with the result. We just set the thermostat at a comfortable temperature and leave it alone. Unlike our old AC, this one has a fan that runs continuously and quietly. The house stays at a very comfortable temperature all of the time – it never changes! No more walking over to the thermostat to adjust the temperature multiple times. No more uneven heating throughout the house, and no more waking up to the loud start of the AC kicking on and the interior doors rattling due to pressure changes. Tim was great about checking in to see how we liked the system and scheduling the city permit inspection. I highly recommend TSD Construction. Tim is honest, dependable and does great work.

TSD Construction replaced my roof and roof mounted HVAC. They were professional, prompt, available to answer all of my questions, reasonably priced, and did good work. I plan to use them again on future home projects.

UPDATE: This is an update to the owner’s response to my post. We wanted to mention that the roofer himself was very professional and polite. He simply could’ve been better at navigating the fragile tile roof. It’s shocking that regardless of what the owner thinks I should do, he’s frustrated with me! Seriously? I asked him for one thing and he decided to do something else. And in the process, I lost time and money. Ridiculous. Original Review: Poor customer service! No accountability! Background: We are getting solar and were told we had many broken tiles and some dry rot on our 50 y/o tile roof. We postponed the solar install, inspected all the broken tiles (there were around 70 and all cracked along the edges) and asked TSD for a quote for the small 10×10 area of dry rot and one for the whole roof. While waiting for a quote we go back on the roof to start replacing them and there are 9 or 10 freshly broken ones — right down the middle! Finally, we get a quote for the whole roof, but not for the small section. I ask for a quote from the small section and it’s more than I thought. Still, no big deal. The big deal is when I mention that their inspector, Andres, may benefit from some extra education on how to walk on old lightweight tile roofs and that there were around 9 extra broken tiles. Tim, who I’m guessing is the owner, his text is below: “I’m not interested in working for you. I told you from the very beginning that a tile roof that old should be replaced. He’s an excellent roofer. You just can’t get up on old Spanish style roofs and not have problems. If you remember what I told you the first time we talked was that the roof should be replaced.” Honestly, I couldn’t believe the response. I work in customer service and even when the customer is wrong, which I am not here, you are still polite! No apology, no accountability, nothing. Also, FYI, I am 190 lb, replaced over 30 of the broken tiles myself, and only broke two while up there! I attached an example image of an edge cracked tile and one that was broken down the middle. You can tell that the person who broke the middle cracked tile was literally walking in the middle of the tile and not where the two tiles meet! If at some point there was a chance of us doing business with them in the future, that is now gone. Not for the broken tiles, but for their response. Very disappointed.

The heating and cooling system in my home were not performing well, so I contacted Tim Davidson, owner of TSD Construction. An inspection of my attic revealed that the ductwork was torn in some places and not even connected in others. A complete removal of the existing insulation and thorough cleaning of the attic, followed by all new ductwork and new insulation was recommended. The crew that Tim sent out were on time, the work was done on schedule and they were meticulous in cleaning up after they finished the work. My HVAC system now works like new and I couldn’t be more pleased with the work that was performed. I highly recommend TSD Construction to anyone in need of ductwork repair or replacement.

TDS owner Tim has been great to work with. The job involved removing and replacing an old roof. Tim came out and inspected the site and quoted within a day. Top quality materials were quoted and he was very through in describing how a new roof would be installed. I had several questions about the material proposed and he was quick to respond. The quote was very reasonable. TDS scheduled the job and within a couple weeks permits were pulled and work started. It took 3-4 work days and the old roof was off and new one installed. New roof looks great and job site completely cleared of all debris. I’m happy to have found TDS and would certainly recommend them to friends and family as well as use them in the future.

After interviewing several contractors to complete a drywall repair in my home, I was most impressed with my initial interaction with TSD Construction. Mr. Tim Davidson was professional, courteous, and respectful. I hired TSD Construction and was completely satisfied with the completion on the job. After the job was finished, (dry wall replaced and painted) I could not even tell any dry wall had been replaced at all. The job was completed in the time stated. If you want professional, high quality work, I highly recommend TSD Construction and definitely would hire again.

Over this past year TSD Construction has managed three major jobs at my houses in Curtis Park, and all three have been completed excellently. First was to manage a basement that had been flooded by 4 feet of water because of a plumbing failure during a three-day weekend in September. The second job at the same house was to replace completely two old bathrooms and to re-plumb the entire house. This summer he supervised the removal of a collapsed garage, its broken cement foundation, and driveway. Then TSD had a new garage, patio, and driveway constructed. Tim Davidson is organized, familiar with municipal regulations and requirements, and necessary inspections. Tim works well with craft people, inspectors, and neighbors. My three excellent, completed projects are why I recommend TSD Construction so highly.
