When we met Tim in March of 2021, he was very friendly and really sold us on the awning we wanted built over our deck. He was very open to what we wanted and helped us figure out the best way to go about creating that vision. He was very persistant, almost to a fault, as we felt a lot of pressure to rush into signing the contract. It was quite a bit more expensive than we were hoping, but Tim did work with us to bring the cost down a bit. When we signed the contract we were given approximate dates of completion for different phases of the build. The awning was going to be finished approximately the beginning of May. Everything seemed great. Then the waiting game began. The rest of March went by and nothing. April went by, still nothing. Remember, the project was supposed to be FINISHED the beginning of May. May came and went without anything started. Then, June came and went…finally, on July 1st, someone came out and broke ground. So, from July 1st until August 11th the awning was being built (I should probably mention also that Tim promised us an awning two weeks from ground breaking to completion). The process of the build was fine, a bit frustrating in some areas. They took gutters off and put them on the grass, which killed the grass. That wasn’t too big of a deal because with the heat, most of the grass died anyway. There were nails and staples and metal clips all over the yard which I had to pick up because we have two daughters and two dogs. Garbage was left around the house, which the dogs got into. When they laid the concrete for the footings, the cemented part of our sprinkler hose into the footing. As the build came to an end, the finishing details were pretty disappointing. I understand the need to caulk seams and nail holes, but I also understand that there is a way to do it that isn’t very noticable. To put it bluntly, the finishing work was sloppy. I will attach pictures of some of the things that I believe could have been done better to make it more aesthetically pleasing. The caulk is on thick and noticable, the downspout goes into a rather large and unappealing piece of PVC piping it is also crooked. When they took the old downspout off of the house, there was a hole in the deck. To fix it they took a little piece of decking they had cut off for the columns and nailed it in. Also, where the down spout was removed from the house, some paint was peeled away. When I asked Tim about it, he told me that I have a lot of the exterior paint left that I can paint it with. Overall am I happy with the awning? Yes, It will serve its purpose. Am I happy with the price? No, I don’t think this was worth the amount we paid. Do I think this company pays close attention to the small details? Again, no, it looks kind of sloppy in a few places. Am I happy with the time it took to have it built? Absolutely not. Tim is a great salesman and he sold us…he sold us good. I’m not going to say you shouldn’t use this company. But I will HIGHLY recommend you make certain Tim does what you want and make sure they are paying attention to the small details.
