There are alot of decking building companies out there. We chatted with quite a few and in the end Tom and build a deck were able provide all options for composite decking, not just trex. We were going for a specific look and Fiberon had the colors/textures and look that we were after. was exactly what we were looking for. Our deck was about 500sqft and 30+ years old. They rebuilt the substructure and topped it off with Fiberon Ipe with Burnt Umber as an accent and Colorguard Tuscany railing.Tom and his team explained everything to us and you can tell he and his team care about building beautiful decks that will definitely enhance our outdoor living. His team arrived at the house early to start the day and worked their butts off during this intense heat wave. The crew was great! We are really glad we decided to move forward with Build A Deck Long Island. Thanks Tom and Crew!

When my 20’x24’ Cedar deck started to rot after 26 years that I meticulously maintained, I knew I had to act quickly get it replaced! At the beginning of April 2024, I called three companies that had the top ratings. I read the unbiased reviews, and I had each company’s sales rep come to my home. I must say that Build-A-Deck Long Island had the most comprehensive and informative presentation! They covered every possible contingency the first day of my consultation with them on April 12th, and Tom, the owner of the company gave me a construction date of June 12th – less than 6 weeks after he had measured my deck during the busy season! To my delight, Tom called and moved the date up to June 11th! He sent three men who worked from 7:30am – 4pm for four days to construct my custom “Fiberon” Composite Deck and rails with measured precision and excellence worthy of the 5 star rating I gave! I so recommend Building-A-Deck Long Island!👏

I recently had the pleasure of having deck and paver work done at my house by Tom and his crew, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. From the initial consultation, Tom was very straight forward on the work that could be done and even had great suggestions for the layout of our yard. He and his crew completed the work in under a week as promised. Overall, very honest and worked with our budget. The work turned out beautiful and absolutely would recommend Build A Deck LI. You won’t regret it.

In this day and age, it is hard to get reliable, professional people. I got multiple estimates to compare prices, quality and get a feel of what type of company I was dealing with. Most of them didn’t even call us back. Tom was amazing, he answered all of our questions and gave us samples, options and ideas that we were not even considering. For example: A dry deck so we can sit below in the rain. We have had too many parties ruined by rain, having to run into house with all the food and put away all of our couch cushions. That was something we didn’t think of. Also, the amazing look of the black posts on the white railing. It looks gorgeous and at night almost blends in with the darkness. The crew was amazing too. Such nice respectful and friend guys and high quality professionals. They are master Craftsman as well. Our deck wasn’t a deck, it was a work of art. They even did our stairs in an angular step so it looks like an interior stairway of a home. I have been telling everyone how satisfied we are and I would recommend them to everyone I know. Well, I actually have. I give this a 6 star rating. But Google only allows me 5.

We hired Build a Deck Long Island to resurface an existing porch, build out a new stair configuration, and build an outdoor shower. Tom and his team did a great job, start to finish. It was refreshing to deal with a company that was easy to communicate with, stuck to their initial price and timeline, and paid attention to every last detail. Tom was onsite each day making sure everything went smooth and went above and beyond to ensure that we were satisfied with every element of the job. His design inputs made the project better than we initially envisioned and the quality of craftsmanship is obvious. Despite encountering changes throughout the project, Tom upheld the original agreement without compromising on quality or service. He willingly invested additional time, labor, and materials to ensure our complete satisfaction. Overall, Tom is a stand up guy who clearly cares about his craft and reputation over profit margin. I would absolutely recommend Tom and his team to anyone considering Build a Deck Long Island and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again for future projects.

Tom and his crew did an absolutely beautiful job rebuilding our rotting deck and replacing our crumbling patio. We found Tom to be super honest, straightforward and an overall great guy to work with.
