Judy was extremely responsive and helpful from the very first call. She kept us updated and worked with us on the timing of when to start the build as this was part of a larger home renovation. The deck they built for us completely exceeded our expectations. Her team worked efficiently and if we questioned anything, they worked with us to ensure we ended up with the deck we wanted. Highly recommend them to anyone considering having a deck built.

Very thorough and expert work. Neighbors still comment on how impressed they were with their professionalism and high quality work. We joke that we could probably launch the next space shuttle off our new front porch because it’s so sturdy. I give them an A++, will definitely use them again

We recently had NJ Decks and Railings, owned and operated by Bruce Verblaauw, replace our wooden deck with a Trex deck. We couldn’t be more pleased with the professional appearance and quality of our deck. Bruce helped us select the configuration, the accessories and the color. The deck was both started and completed as scheduled in the proposal. I highly recommend NJ Decks and Railings for anyone contemplating this type of undertaking. Bruce (owner) and Scott’s team were excellent from start to finish. We are extremely happy with our deck. Bruce kept in regular contact with us throughout the process to keep us up to speed on where everything was in the process. The team is professional, respectful, shows up on time, cleans up at the end of every day and are excellent at what they do. Bruce and Scott were very helpful problem solving as we encountered unexpected issues. If there is any doubt in your mind go with Verblaauw & Sons. Great experience all around.

Contracted the company out in 2019 to install a brand new deck. Initially everything went well. Always on time and were very professional. During the build an issue arose where the herringbone design was off by nearly one full board at the end of the deck. It was addressed and mostly corrected, although it’s still off but not by nearly as much. The deck was completed in the fall of 2019. The deck was fully lit including all the posts and stair lighting. I was told that one transformer was more then sufficient to power the lighting on the deck. One transformer was installed on a timer and the deck looked amazing. By the spring of 2020 many of the lights would dim out and eventually each one stopped working. The company was called and Ben came out to troubleshoot. He made some wiring adjustments and the deck was fully lit once again. No charges and everything was good again. The issue arose again late 2020 early 2021 where the lights would dim out and now nothing turns on. When I called now to address the issue again a few days ago the company is declining to cover any of this under warranty even though they were out later year for the exact same issue. I was told it was probably “chipmunks chewing on the wires.” It’s documented and clearly an issue with the transformer/timer. If you’re looking to have a deck installed and want a company that will back their work look elsewhere. This is not the one.

If we could give 10 stars we would . We had a great experience . Very professional , kept us updated every step of the way and the team working on the property has been excellent , respectful and cleaning after each working day and always showing up on time early morning . Highly recommended!!

I was looking to replace my deck and took to the internet to find a qualified contractor. C. Verblaauw & Sons received so many outstanding reviews that I knew they were the contractor I needed. And, boy, I was not disappointed. Bruce came to my home and we discussed the many options available to me. Judy took care of the paperwork/permit; Scott and the crew (Kyle, John and Dillon) arrived the following week. They were professional, friendly, worked all day in the cold temperatures, answered any questions that I had and left the backyard/driveway clean each day. I was extremely pleased with the outcome and the ease of the project from start to finish. I definitely recommend them! Thank you for a job well done.

C. Verblaauw & Sons are wonderful to work with. Responsive, efficient, beautiful workmanship. Our deck is just beautiful and we will enjoy it for years to come. Their customer service is excellent!
