My wife and I were very pleased with our recent purchase of a deck from Intelligent Roofing. From the initial meeting with the salesman through the completion of the deck and the inspection, everything went great. The foreman who was assigned (Mike) was very good; thorough and willing to go the extra step to insure we got what we wanted when the project was completed. The crew was courteous and respectful. The deck looks amazing, especially the staircase. The only issue we had was that we were not informed of the materials delivery beforehand, so we were a little surprised. It would have been great to have a little warning.

We hired Intelligent to replace our old wood deck with a covered composite deck. We received bids from 4 different companies and all the bids came reasonably close. Only 3 of 4 companies were willing to install a roof over the deck. Our deciding factor was the variety of decking to choose from, the quality of decking, the timeline and how well Tom their sales person answered our questions and did not pressure us. He came to our house twice and we exchanged several emails prior to us signing the contract. We actually had one more company scheduled to give us a bid but after our second meeting with Tom we were ready to book the job. The owner Mike and his office person Andrew maintained contact with us and answered questions. The job ended up costing a little more and took a little longer than expected. It was due to 2 unexpected issues beyond Intelligent or our control which caused a slight change in drawings, engineer approval and city inspection. Love our new covered deck!! Give them a call, you won’t be disappointed.

My wife and I can’t express how happy we are to have chosen Intelligent Roofing and Exteriors to replace our roof and make improvements to our Deck. From the great line of communication, highly knowledgeable team of workers and honestly just being made to feel like a family member and not a just a number. We highly recommend intelligent for anybody looking to make improvements to their roof or exteriors

Had them install a deck on the backside of my house that’s been needed for the last 15 years. The crew they sent out was absolutely outstanding, and to make it better, Rob, the lead guy, was a fellow VET. They went above and beyond, keeping me informed and the quality of work. When they finished up, you couldn’t even tell they were in the yard. He even cleaned the deck off from all the dust and dirt from the build before he left. Overall, it is probably one of the best and most efficient company’s I’ve seen and would gladly hire them again or refer anyone who needed work done to them.

ETA: I am updating this to say that they did come and correct superficial issues, so I upgraded to a 2-star review. I also notice my review disappeared unless I was signed in on my Google account. —————— I had a deck built to replace the previous structure. I needed to choose between decking and siding because of the price, so I chose to replace the crumbling concrete structure. I also chose to have my wrought iron railing on my front porch replaced with vinyl. I thought the timeline seemed fair. The crew hardly communicated. The lead did not prioritize my concerns and would act like they were petty (we’re talking the deck not being the length it was supposed to be [it was corrected], the posts being slanted, vinyl not reaching to the top of the ceiling of both the front and the back posts). I asked for skirts to be added to the top of the post to correct the noticeable gaps, and they condescendingly asked how I’d make them stay. Every other house with skirts at the top figured out a way. I have a Ring camera and there are multiple times posts and railing weren’t checked to see if they were level before securing. The front posts bottom skirt cover is broken and the post leans in as you get to the concrete. It’s nearly an inch deeper than the post behind it. The company knew I wasn’t having siding done. I have aluminum siding that could be painted while I saved money for new siding. When they took out the railing they ruined my siding, popping it out of the j-link and leaving it gnarled. I spent 5 hours trying to get my siding popped back into the j-link and the holes flattened, so that my friend, could use some aluminum to patch the holes. I talked to the owner on 2 to 3 occasions throughout this process and was told most things would be made right, but for damage like the siding it was not taken seriously. It was suggested the painter maybe bond-o it. The painter didn’t damage my siding. The work also caused parts of my concrete basement wall to crack and fall in the basement. There was saw dust and materials left in my yard, which killed my grass. I was told my brand new ACs would be covered and protected and they were not (exposed to demolition, concrete being mixed and poured, etc.). Some of the posts seem to be set into concrete before it fully dried and the metal brackets and posts appear to have sunk into the concrete (repair if/when it happens will be exponentially harder in the future). When I talked to the owner it always seemed like things were going to be made right, but they weren’t. Another member of their team came out and said he’d make the repairs and quoted me for an extension, since the deck did not offer the space the salesman said it would. The quote for a 7×10 was $9800. I’d had nearly $17,000 worth of work done and I told them I didn’t know if that was going to be feasible, but I needed the repairs done. When I last talked to the owner at the end of the project he asked if I could release the funds. I asked if I should release the funds if the work hasn’t been fixed yet and he said it would be fixed—there was a warranty (which I was given no paperwork for) and repairs were included for a year. The owner reassured me their rating was 5 stars. My experience was not 5 stars. It’s clear they must do good work most places, but it’s also seems like that’s fully dependent on the crew and possibly not having to make the repairs—maybe they do for other people. If you drove past my house and glanced you’d think the work looked nice. If you look at it for more than a minute you see all the work that still needs to be done. I’ve since texted and emailed asking for a supply list so I can have someone else make repairs, since they weren’t going to—it’s been months without a reply. The person building the extension is doing it for nearly 1/3 of the price. I feel scammed. Maybe you’ll get a good crew. So much of this could have been avoided with people who measured twice, checked to see if things were level, and communicated throughout.

Would highly recommend. Intelligent Roofing and Exteriors communication and professionalism is unmatched. When I first called in, Adam answered. very personable on the phone. It wasn’t a quick schedule an appointment and move on. He took the time to ask some questions, and even gave me a little background on the company. I received a reminder text for the appointment, and Tom arrived right on time. Just like Adam, Tom was very patient, asked questions, and went over any different option that ran through his head. Tom showed me samples of the different decking, and railing options. At the end, he gave me a quote right there. A couple days go by and I received a call from Tom just to ask how my experience was and if I had any additional questions. I had two other companies that were supposed to come out for quotes. One showed up, then said they would get back to me about a quote. If I didn’t hear from them, to reach out myself and they would get it to me. If they wanted the job, they would make sure to reach out with the quote. The second company was not the greatest at responding. Then they no called, no showed on the day of the quote. If I am doing any major house project, I feel having a company that has great communication is one of the biggest factors in making the final decision. Great team at Intelligent Roofing and Exteriors.

We just had our deck replaced by Intelligent Roofing and Exteriors and couldn’t be happier. The folks at Intelligent Roofing and Exteriors were attentive and understanding of our needs for this project. From start to finish they were in touch with us and followed up promptly with all the calls we made to them. Beginning with Tom who made arrangements to come to our home later in the afternoon beyond normal work hours to accommodate my wife’s late schedule. He was able to provide us with a myriad of options and deck colors and materials. When we decided to use them for our project, Tom returned and arranged financing for us as well. After our decision to use Intelligent Roofing and Exteriors and financing was secured, Shannon promptly came to the house and photographed our old deck, took measurements, and explained the project details to us. He then drew up the plans for our new deck and emailed them to us within 24 hours. He also submitted the plans for approval to the county and obtained all necessary permits. Mary worked with us to schedule a start date for the project and ensured that the dumpster and all materials were on site for the start of the project. She also called after the project started to make sure we were satisfied with the work being done. The crew that did our work was a father and son team, Rob, and Robert. They were on site every morning by 6:45.M. and worked nonstop until 4:00 PM. They were truly craftsmen and the job they did was beautiful. On top of their carpentry skills the project called for an 8’X10’ concrete pad. Rob did a fantastic job on that part of the project as well. To top it off, after the project was completed, they moved my rather large 450 lb smoker/grill combo onto the pad on their own without my asking them. I was very appreciative of that. All in all, this was the best experience I have ever had with any contractor work I have ever had done. I will highly recommend Intelligent Roofing and Exteriors to anyone looking for work done to their homes.

Intelligent was a pleasure to work with. Everyone was super responsive and professional. The crew tore down my old, rotting cedar deck and replaced it with beautiful, maintenance free composite. They finished on time and the quality is amazing. I highly recommend Intelligent!

Intelligent saved us! Another company took our money and never came through. We had a hard time getting our money back and were very fearful to hire anyone else. Intelligent did everything they promised they would do. Suppliers issues are out of any companies control, so who cares about that. Don’t fuss! The work, the quick timeline, the quality, the unbeatable prices! We love them so much we have them coming back for our deck! We trust no one else! Their whole team, they are great! Look at it! Amazing! So thorough with the whole installation too!
