Mindaugas does quality work and craftsmanship. I was tired of annually having to stain my stairs and small landing. Mindaugas did detailed quality work to match our new outside Trex stairs and deck with out three seasons porch. We were thoroughly happy and you will be too if you hire him.

⚠️ UPDATE: Court issued judgment in our favor and we were able to recover money for work that wasn’t completed plus cost of damaged materials due to poor craftsmanship. Please use our experience as a warning when considering using MV Builders. ⚠️ Beware: Subpar craftsmanship and dishonest practices Our experience with Mindau and MV Builders was nothing short of disappointing, prompting this cautionary review. We hired them to install $70k worth of windows and doors at our house based on seemingly positive past google reviews and great initial communication. 🔨 Craftsmanship: The windows were installed poorly, with some not being able to be opened due to crooked framing in inadequate opening size. The flashing method used by the contractor didn’t comply with the MN building code and the installation failed the city’s inspection. Many of the windows need to be removed and reinstalled. 🚪 Abandoned Job: To compound matters, MV Builders abandoned the job before completion. Regrettably, we made the mistake of paying majority of the money upfront, only to be met with unfulfilled promises, unanswered calls, and ignored messages. ⚠️ Caution: Mindau talked us into opening the permit in our name, explaining this it makes the process much faster and easier when it’s done by the homeowner. Please know you should never do this as it is a maneuver used by contractors to avoid responsibility when things go wrong. There isn’t much you can do to hold them accountable if the permit is not in their name. ⚠️ If all that wasn’t enough, few days after walking off the job Mindaugas Vallunas and his wife Ayana who operates MV Builders sued us demanding payment for the remainder of the job they DIDN’T complete. We will update this review when the case concludes. Before considering hiring Mindau and MV Builders, think twice. Our half-finished project serves as a stark reminder of the lack of professionalism and integrity we encountered. Explore more reliable options to avoid the disappointment we faced.

Mindaugas and his crew was very professional and efficient. They completed my deck project on time/ahead of time and on budget. They even prioritized an unexpected siding project that was discovered during the deck project. Mindaugas was very good at communicating the status of the project through the builds. I would not hesitate to recommend and hire them for future projects.

We just finished project #2 with MV Builders and are pleased to say we are happily enjoying our beautiful new Trex deck this Labor Day weekend! The workmanship and attention to detail is perfection and a special railing design to accommodate our space is just outstanding. We especially appreciate their punctuality, daily updates, and excellent communication before, during and after the project. As with our big window project completed last year, timing, cost and quality were all as promised, and even exceeded our expectations. This is a trustworthy company with integrity and we are confidently planning project #3 with MV Builders!

Mindaugas and his crew did an excellent job replacing our old decking, railings and stairs. The deck was over a walkout lower level with multiple deck widths and two sets of stairs. On time, on budget with an eye to detail so it was done right. They’ll be my first call for any future projects.

I interviewed 4 different companies to remodel my deck. I could tell Mindau was super knowledgeable and took pride in his work. He’s the owner and he’s the guy doing the work. He returned emails very quickly and answered them with clear answers. If I had a question or wanted him to address something, he took time to do so. When the project was completed there was a small concern that I had, and he immediately addressed it. I picked the right guy to do my deck and I’m super happy with it. He does high quality work and you won’t be disappointed.

We had an old deck removed and a new maintenance-free deck, aluminum railing and replaced screened porch installed. MV Builders delivered great customer service and kept us informed during the process. Quality workmanship and attention to detail. MV takes his work seriously and we appreciate that!
