I took a leap and tried the DIY program to save some money and the team at UgyDeck were extremely responsive, helpful, and accommodating. Watch their videos, read through the instructions multiple times, sort through all the material boxes before starting, and know your local building codes. If you don’t have a palm nailer it’s well worth the investment! Since building my deck I’ve paid close attention to others. The quality of material is top notch and worth the price point. You get what you pay for. Thank you, Josh, Tyler, Aaron, and Team! (The photo I’ve included is my deck before it was completely finished)

We were very happy with our choice of Ugly Deck to assist in our deck building project. Their DIY program was perfect for me. I am handy but could not do all the steps. They created a drawing for the City permit, created and provided a material and parts list and had both on-line videos as well as email/phone call assistance. I was well prepared when I had my help come and assist. As with many building projects, not everything goes as smoothly as desired. We had board tint problem with our TimberTech boards not matching correctly. Working with Aaron at Ugly Deck, he listened to our concerns and kept working to get the issue corrected. Unfortunately, it took 3 tries to get them right, but Aaron remained patient and got the job done. It was a fun/rewarding project that we will enjoy for many years to come. I would highly recommend Tyler (our sales guy) and Aaron to anyone interested in saving big $ and using their DIY program. Thanks Ugly Deck!

Ugly Deck was hands down the best company to work with. Scott in sales was responsive, detailed, and patient as we weighed options and competing bids. He clearly outlined the general process with their company as well as which materials might best fit our needs. Project manager Scott was excellent to work with as well. He anticipated our questions, reached out at regular intervals prior to our install date, at was thorough on his responses to our questions throughout the project. Nate and Hunter did a fabulous job on our deck. The quality of the work was apparent and they were patient when we had additional questions. I have never seen such care taken on a project before. If you need a deck built or replaced I cannot recommend ugly deck company enough.

I had a great experience overall with this decking company. The team was skilled and the project turned out wonderfully. However, there was one individual whose performance was not up to the standard of the rest of the team. Despite this, the other workers were fantastic and ensured the project’s success. Overall, I’m pleased with the final result and would recommend this company for their quality workmanship and professionalism

Working with Ugly Deck as a DIY’er was great. I knew what I wanted for my deck and priced out a materials list with all the big box stores. UD was not only a more cost effective, they also dropped off the materials and had a DIY number I could call when I had questions. I also had UD provide an estimate to install the ledger board and drive helical piles. Their estimate on those additional services made working with them a no-brainer. I was very pleased with UD’s customer service and there is no doubt in my mind that I would not have had a similar experience working with anyone else. Matt Martineau
