An ABSOLUTELY AWESOME deck! We 100% Recommend Timber Decks! We found Timber Decks after researching various deck contractors at the Better Business Bureau and online. We were looking to tear down a large (840 SF) dangerously decayed elevated wooden deck and build a new composite deck. We had multiple other contractors come out to provide quotes. Chuck, (the owner) took the time to review our design and provided a detailed quote that included various options based on the quality of materials we selected and design features we wanted. It was very reassuring to know that Chuck sources his materials from a reputable lumber yard and not the “big box stores.” He shared dozens of photos of prior jobs to help us decide on a final design and feature list. He was never pushy. Using his over 40 years of experience, Chuck’s suggestions significantly improved the beauty of the design while also minimizing material waste thus reducing the overall cost. No other contractor came close to the level of service and professionalism. Chuck obtained all the permits needed for our village and passed two inspections with no exceptions noted. Chuck was ultra-responsive during the whole process. When we signed the formal contract, it was clear what we would be paying for at each stage of the process and itemized so we knew exactly what we were getting. When the build started, Chuck was here every day (often not the case with other contractors.) He made us feel at ease that we were going to receive great service and we did. He and his crew built us an awesome deck. The Timber Decks crew was fantastic, professional, and very attentive to detail. This crew has been working together for years – a great sign when selecting a contractor. No screaming and yelling, rather coordinated movement, and motion. They are well trained and exceptionally attentive to details. Every board was checked before it was installed, every cut was precise, every corner square, every post plumb, color matched screws – they even erased their pencil marks on the finished deck! Every member of the crew took pride in the quality of their workmanship, and it showed in the result. They made tons of progress every day and were finished in 6 days. When we encountered some unexpected existing conditions, Chuck offered pragmatic and cost-effective solutions – he was always accommodating and helpful. We called to get a quote on a potential deck. A very kind and knowledgeable man came out. We have been waiting for a quote going on two weeks now. We have called twice and left two voicemails asking about receiving a quote to move forward and no reply.
