There is a new manager at Team Clean at the prestigious Ala Moana Center. In spite of the surrounding luxury, the new manager shows nothing but utter contempt his direct dealings with employees. As you may be aware, Ala Moana is a sprawling mall taking up several million square feet. I was hired as a cleaner. I was not feeling well that morning and I had coughed an soiled myself. I went to a restroom to clean myself up. And same thing happened 5 minutes later. As I was headed to the restroom in a relative hurry I hear someone shouting behind me. It was the new manager and his 2nd in command. He launched into me about walking past a piece of trash. I told him I was heading to the bathroom. He said that the bathroom is for customers and employees have to go to the employee restroom that was about a mile away. I looked at him incredulously! Then he says I have to clock out to go to the bathroom! Yes…..this guy was clearly inefficient in his assigned beliefs as to the most effective method of managing people. He was Absolutely the worst at people skills and extremely disrespectful to others. It’s as if he felt so small about himself that he has to bring everyone down to his level of nothingness. He had no qualms about presenting himself in an unfavorable light. To him it was normal. If you are offered work with Team Clean at the Ala Moana Mall avoid it like the plague. What is so sad is that the supervisors go out of their way to thank you for your work assignment completion, and the people that work in retail are all first rate high class individuals who have been suddenly undermined by this alleged new manager with zero people skills. Team Clean should be ashamed of themselves for having this person as a representative. He had no feeling for employee personal appreciation. He is not a new manager, HE IS A VP!!! His actions were counter to his own HR Human Resources Executive mandate that: “It’s important to earn the respect of everyone you meet, and to treat people the way you would want them to treat you.”
