It’s a great service. Nila and Joleen work well together and get an amazing amount of work done well and quickly. They were are prompt and cheerful, efficiently doing the work prescribed. I love having a clean home and they do that the way I would do it myself.

We have been pleased to use The Cleaning Authority for a couple of years; their method of rotation deep cleaning different areas each clean is very efficient. Our last clean with Kayleb and Haylie was excellent.

I’ve used a handful of cleaning services in Boise over the past 2 years and this was my first time using The Cleaning Authority. Their high ratings led to a smooth appointment setup that TCA were very flexible with when needing to reschedule. Everyone I spoke to was kind and personable. Communication was very prompt – I was always able to reach someone via email, phone, or text. In the end, I received supplemental paperwork and TCA was very open to receiving my feedback. It’s on this note that I have to clarify my lower rating. When all is said and done, I paid to have my house cleaned and unfortunately in this instance, it was not. As I see it, the problem is in the business model and agreement on the definition of terms like “priority”. When I was asked what areas of my home I’d like prioritized, it was never my assumption that the other areas would not be cleaned. A 2-person crew should’ve had no issues cleaning our 1582 sqft home in 3 hours. Just to clarify: our home is well-kept and organized – meaning no problem areas or catastrophes for the crew to walk into. This cleaning was intended as a birthday gift for my hardworking wife before our vacation. Instead, we arrived home to find that the crew ONLY attended to the priorities (kitchen and 2.5 bathrooms) and did not clean any other area of the house. While I understood the purpose of trying to upsell me past 3 hours, it’s misleading to assume that I agreed to a partial cleaning just because I didn’t buy it. Imagine ordering a cheeseburger with a toasted bun, melted cheese, and a medium-well patty. When asked which to prioritize, you choose the patty being cooked properly. Would you be confused and frustrated if you received a fully-cooked patty, without bun or cheese because they asked you which to prioritize and didn’t get to the rest? Prioritization to me, in this case, meant “which things do we make sure to pay special attention to?” and NOT “which are the only things we should do?” Unfortunately, I will not accept the “we have different standards of clean” reasoning I was given for why a 2-person crew couldn’t clean our house in 3 hours. While my wife and I could clean it in less time, that wasn’t the point. The point was paying to have it done as part of a gift. There is clearly a business strategy in saying, “if you let us clean for 3-5 hours, we’ll clean it better.” But really, cleaning it “better” in this case means cleaning it “completely”. The logical thing to do would have been to clean the entire house as best as possible within the time allotted, making sure to attend to the priorities. Perfection was not the expectation, just completion. I would’ve accepted the un-toasted bun with the non-melted cheese with my burger. While I didn’t accept the reasoning, I did accept the discounted rate and their efforts to make things right. I can only hope that this misunderstanding will be prevented for future customers.
