Mike and his team at LAB Construction are honest, hard-working, conscientious – and of course, great at what they do. They did a great job screening in and extending our patio as well as laying a cement slab for our new shed. Highly recommend for all your construction needs!

Mike and Andrea were great with communication and we’re able to accomadate our timeline needed for our back deck, fence, garage and pergola. The site was cleaned up each day (so our dogs didnt get into anything). More importantly the quality of workmanship was excellent. The price was definitely worth the quality and peace of mind. Thanks Andrea and Mike!

Best experience we have had with a contractor. Its so refreshing to say Lab construction did the projects, were so helpful and proffessional and finished the projects!!! We couldnt have been more pleased.

We reached out to Lab Construction to build a detached garage at our home. They were very nice in person, and got a quote together quickly on account we had a scope of work already prepared. They did miss a few things which could add cost down the road — but not a problem, we know this is a part of working on any project (both my boyfriend and I have extensive project management experience, but not in construction.) Lab did advise they’d never taken on a job this size, but had done similar structures on a smaller scale. Of course, we asked for their comfort level, and were assured their business integrity would only allow them to provide a quote if 100% certain they could perform the work. A few weeks of edits to the scope took place with no issue. Before signing a final contract, we again asked (for peace of mind) if they felt comfortable performing a job this size — this being the first time we’ve ever had anything built, and had already seen one contractor fall through on account of qualifier issues. At this point…we were advised Lab no longer wanted to work with us, “due to our lack of confidence” in their work. *Bottom Line*: My boyfriend and I are very disappointed in our ultimate interaction with Lab Construction, as we were excited to work with a small, local company. In my view, we had every reason to confirm their confidence in performing work outside of their usual scope; and, rather than providing reassurance to a new customer, they used a petty conversation as a chance to turn us down.

I worked directly with Mike, the owner, on our project and it was an extremely pleasant and very professional exprerience. The quality of craftmanship was exceptional and uneventful with any issues. I higly recommend the services fo LAB Construction.

Great experience! The job was done well and right on time. I even asked about other projects I’m doing and was given answers and advice on those. It’s rare to find people who generally want to help and this team has that going on. Highly recommend LAB!

After serial renovation projects on multiple homes, I’ve interacted with dozens of trades and construction companies in Wilmington over the last 5 years. LAB Construction stands out for their fantastic communication, advance scheduling, reliability, and adaptability. Mike and his team provided a competitive quote for our fence. They began work a week after our contract was signed and showed up promptly on time. I was impressed that they completed the install in one day. They readily adapted to solve a few challenges that came up and stayed late to ensure the job was complete. I highly recommend Mike and his team!

Mike and his wife Andrea transformed my small backyard yesterday. It looks beautiful! I had found 2 other quotes and they were way out of my budget. Mike made some suggestions trying to help me. No one else even tried to think outside the proverbial box. (One estimate never even followed up.) They were so upbeat and truly enjoyed what they were doing. I even tagged a little “add on” at the end to fix a board in the fence. Mike really wants to work with people. Such a pleasure!
