We cannot express how pleased we are to have worked with JPI and their staff. They are in the finishing stages of an addition to our home, a pool house. Jeremy was very thorough when explaining the construction, permits, costs and logistics. He and his staff are detail-oriented, and all our questions were answered promptly throughout the entire construction process. Nick was our go-to guy and his level of professionalism, commitment to perfection, and dedication to the project is above and beyond. Dustin completed all types of jobs and was personable, efficient, and has a get it done approach to all tasks. All workers and contractors upheld an exceptional level of professionalism, and any issues/glitches were addressed immediately. Everyone has been respectful of our family, property and all have performed exceptional work. We highly recommend JPI! A final review will be submitted upon completion of the project.

1-27-24 We hired the contractor to do a remodeling project at our residence here in The Villages. Unfortunately, this experience has become nothing short of a nightmare. The contractor has failed to deliver the agreed-upon services and engaged in fraudulent and unscrupulous practices. This has caused us financial loss and considerable emotional distress. Specific Complaint Details: 1. Failure to adhere to the agreed-upon timeline: The contractor consistently delayed the project, causing inconvenience and disrupting the daily lives of residents. The Agreement was signed on May 11, 2023. 2. Substandard workmanship: The quality of work performed by the contractor was subpar, with multiple issues requiring extensive and costly repairs. We have paid over $65,000 to this contractor to date. 3. Unethical billing practices: The contractor engaged in deceptive billing practices, overcharging for services that were not provided or were inadequately executed. 4. Lack of supervision of sub-contractors: The contractor was negligent in supervising the sub-contractors causing subpar work and numerous inspection failures. 5. Disregard for safety protocols: The contractor neglected safety measures creating hazardous conditions within the community during the construction process. We attempted to resolve these issues directly with the contractor, but our efforts have been met with evasion and further unprofessional behavior. We believe that the Better Business Bureau’s intervention is crucial to address this matter and prevent the contractor from victimizing other residents in The Villages. I kindly request that you investigate this complaint thoroughly and take appropriate action to ensue accountability and protect the community from further harm. If you require any additional documentation, please do not hesitate to contact me. This letter was sent to the BBB. It’s been increasingly stressful and no one should be taken advantage in this way…especially seniors.

Communication was excellent; letting us know about each step of the project. All workers were extremely polite and hard working! Their expertise in all stages of enclosing our large lanai and adding a large birdcage was superior. We would highly recommend JPI for your next project!

I am installing a pool in my yard and decided to add patio doors to my bedroom. My sister who had doors installed gave me the number of the company that installed theirs. I called the company number and Jeremy answered the phone. He told me that company had left the Villages and he now works for JPI Construction (Josh Powell, Inc). His business card list him as the manager. He came to my house and said the company could start on the project right away. He told me he would have me and estimate by Friday. Prior to him leaving my house I asked him if his company has had any complaints filed with Senior’s vs Crime or the Better Business Bureau? He said “no, they did not”. Friday came and went along with the next two Fridays without a word from them. I called their office yesterday to see if there was a reason I had not received the estimate. The lady who answered the telephone said she would have Jeremy call me right back. No return call. Later that day the same woman called me to say that the person that sends out estimates was out sick. She told me she had the estimate and asked for my email address to send it to me. I had already given my address to Jeremy. No estimate came by email or any other calls from them. Its hard to understand why a company would not send out an estimate on a multi thousand dollar job. It all changed once I asked Jeremy about complaints filed against the company. So if you decide to work with this company do your homework first. Contact the BBB, or your local office of Senior’s vs Crime before moving forward.

You can’t go wrong with Josh Powell, Inc. They were very timely with quote, install and follow through. if I every have any kind of construction work done again, I will definitely start with them and you should to. They were a good experience.

The entire staff at Josh Powell was great from the owner on down. The driveway came out beautiful. I ve received a lot of compliments on the driveway.
