I’ve known Kendall for about 10 years. I’ve always been impressed with his high level of skill and his ability to complete any project i through at him, no matter how large or complicated.He is a young, friendly, hungry, polite individual. Just the kind of guy you would want in your home or business and trust with your important project. He offers a design / build service. This means he and his staff will take your-project from initial conception to move in. One of the best aspects of his company is his crew. He employs about 40 full time highly trained qualified carpenters. With all these guys at his disposal it allows him to take on any size project and complete it as quickly as possible. If your shopping numbers looking for the cheapest price than Kendall might not be your guy. But if you want the highest quality work done on time at a fare price than look no further.

Do not waste your time reaching out to Meyer Guild if you are seeking a well thought out and thorough estimate for your home renovation project. Having read favorable reviews, I was looking forward to receiving an estimate for our home basement renovation. I confirmed the date/time and name of the employee who would be coming by our home for an initial walk-through. The person who came to my home on that day was not who was scheduled to meet with me nor was there any advance notice of the change. Not to mention he was 3 hours late. After a brief site visit, (there were some photos snapped on an iPhone), I received a proposal for work about 2 weeks later. To put it bluntly, these were some of the most comically inflated numbers I have ever seen (my personal favorite, an estimated 140 hrs for the replacement of one exterior door. At $75/hr that’s 10k just for labor…not even including the actual door). The remainder of the proposal followed suit with astronomical estimates for labor and material cost. How this group came to a 6 figure proposal based off a few iPhone photos is the real mystery. I said as much in my reply after reviewing the estimate and heard nothing back (not even from the guy with his name on the company). It seems this is a group who cannot take on any more business and is therefore throwing out crazy high bids to see what sticks. If not, then this is a company who hopes to take advantage of uninformed customers and laugh all the way to the bank. Save your time/money and look elsewhere.

The team at Meyer Guild is incredible and I’m so glad my wife and I picked them for our bathroom + walk-in closet addition. Compared to other companies serving the northern burbs, Meyer Guild’s proposal was straightforward and reasonable, and didn’t include exorbitant “supervision” fees. Besides fair pricing, we had the pleasure of having Andy as our project lead. Simply put, Andy is awesome. He’s down-to-earth, honest, punctual, trustworthy, hilarious and a talented builder. If you’re welcoming people into your home every day for a project, you want them to be like Andy. Additionally, Todd the tile expert on the team, did an amazing job helping us pick out tile and then installing it. He takes so much pride in his work and it shows with the end result. Many others helped contribute to the project and we found them all to be professional and kind people. All in all, I highly recommend Meyer Guild and will definitely be using them again in the future if other projects come up.

My husband recently had some medical set backs that severely limited his ability to safely negotiate the stairs to enter or leave our house. We contacted Kendall at Meyer Guild. This was an emergency situation for us and Kendall responded immediately.. Kendall designed and installed a simple and efficient system that enables my husband to enter and leave the house for his medical appointments. He can now come and go with safety and confidence, thus restoring his mobility and freedom with dignity. We can’t say enough for Kendall and his workers. I highly recommend Meyer Guild for their excellent quality and craftsmanship. They recently finished our basement, which included a laundry room, bathroom and flex/multi- purpose area. The crew was very easy to work with. They are responsive, have great communication and are on site every day. We recently hired them again for another project for our home. I grew up in a construction family and after moving to Chicago I’ve been looking for a company that can be our “go to” for all of our home renovation and repair needs. Meyer Guild is it for us.

Kendall and his crew have been a trusted installer for me + my team for several years. Many years ago he and his father helped us install a complex bifolding door with a zero-post corner condition that would have thrown many contractors for a loop. He handled in in stride and continues to tackle projects head on. His team is well seasoned, understands the challenges that are typical in the field, and addresses each concern in a head-on, professional manner. I would be happy to recommend MEYER GUILD for finish carpentry, general contracting, and complex installations of large format door / screen systems for commercial and residential projects.

i recently had the pleasure of working with Kendall Meyer at Meyerguild after a burst pipe flooding my finished basement. Kendall and his entire crew took control of the situation from demolition to reconstruction, including removing some high end built-in units, restoring them, and reinstalling them. They were skilled craftsman every step of the way and our place looks better than ever. They made a difficult situation easy. I would highly recommend them for any construction project.
