Stay away from this general contractor. He’s not worth the nightmare you will face when you see the quality of his workmanship and pure lack of oversight of his subcontractors. Among his fraudulent accreditations that he is misrepresenting to get you to sign with him. He falsely misrepresented himself as BBB accredited as well claiming he was a member of 3 building associations Nebraska, Metro of Omaha, and the National association of home builders which we have now found to be lies. He’s been red tagged by the city for 3 items so far after we found out he didn’t do the necessary final inspections even though he claimed he was done months ago. His accreditations aren’t the only thing he will lie about. He claimed he would fix things and then once he finds out the price of it’s not a cheap fix, he will make up an excuse or lie to not take accountability. His subcontractors admitted to damage and said he would make it right by taking the damages from their checks, yet he still wouldn’t fix issues when they weren’t cheap. You shouldn’t trust anything he says or writes, he’s tried to go back on numerous written statements to us, luckily we have all the texts and emails. His subcontractors installed siding inappropriately and again, no oversight from him. We had to send him email after email telling him to get out and look at how bad it was. It wasn’t until we filed a complaint with the national siding rep that he even came out to look at it closely. They confirmed the installation voided any warranty. Even then, he made no efforts to fix it while other contractors could tell from down the street it wasn’t installed correctly. He’s damaged so much personal property of ours it’s unreal. His subcontractors cut concrete, didn’t give us warning they were cutting it with a hole in the wall open, then didn’t cover anything and set off fire alarms and filled the entire home with concrete powder. Additionally they smoked in the addition filling the home with powder and cigarette smoke smell. Please don’t fall for his misrepresentations. He will cut any corner he can to make profit resulting in your home not being up to code, left without warranties due to installation negligence, and personal property being damaged due to his lack of oversight and some workers lack of respect for your property. He will refuse to make his mistakes right because it will lose him profit. Mistakes happen and we gave him so much time to fix things and he can’t just be an owner, take accountability for his workers, and fix the damage they’ve caused with their negligence.

Had an addition done to our home that Roger claimed could be done over a weekend and is super simple. Give a brief intro about he also has BBB accreditation labels on his business cards, flyers, website… He’s actually not BBB accredited – go look on BBB site and you will see he isn’t. Don’t worry gang, I told BBB about it. So simple that you get it done without having the city do its final inspections before demanding to pay off the final bill and threaten to put a lien on your house. Funny story after contacting city… His work didn’t pass the final inspection where he didn’t meet city code for insulation and the siding is literally touching the ground and installed so bad that the siding company sent national rep saying the poor workmanship voids the sidings warranty – pics below. Of course there is no possible way in the world that this is Rogers fault. Even if you have a photograph with a literal timestamp from back when he finished the siding that violates city code, it still somehow isn’t his fault and he will blame it on the landscaping done months later to add rock for clover mite control as we waited for him to address his poor work. But did I mention he’s been in business 50 years so this is no way his fault. Nothing is his fault and he is never wrong! You can show him your hand and say it has five fingers but if agreeing will cost him a dime he will claim you have only three and say that your pinkie and thumb don’t count because you don’t use the word ‘finger’ when you refer to them Anyways, back to this ‘simple’ project. Its also so simple that it means that it’s ok to put the beams for the ceiling the wrong direction – pic below – so that when contractors come to add the A/C ducts, you can’t put the ducts between the beams and actually have to lower the ceiling to make room so the addition doesn’t match the existing ceiling and build plan. Oopsy So simple a job that he blocks access to the attic so we can’t go see that his insulation isn’t up to Gretna code – it’s also code to have a scuttle to access the additions attic. Oh and his electricians moved insulation from existing part of house away as path and never put it back. But he’s got 50 years experience and did these big huge projects with awards so it’s ok So simple a job that his contractors smoke in addition while they cut the concrete setting off the alarm and thoughtfully leave cigarette butts and cartridges in the yard. Now Roger thinks that since he had to hire a cleaning company to come clean up all of the residue that spread all over the black horsemat floor of the existing gym – picture below – and the carpet and furniture throughout the basement that he did a ‘favor’ So simple job he left blinds up when spraying primer on shelves that there were paint spots on black Hunter Douglas blinds no longer made requiring replacement costs of $2k – picture below. But no way this ever happened in 50 years even after subcontractors admitted to the issue. But lets not admit a mistake as us humans are prone to, lets make the damage worse sending blinds to get stain removal attempt that made the damage even worse. Worse to the point that somehow after Roger hears about the cost of replacement he thinks our cats somehow put paint stains on the blinds. Don’t get me wrong, I wish my cats were that coordinated and I’m sure they’re flattered on his confidence in them doing such a skillful act. Now, lets be thankful of our technological advances in Rogers 50 year career – sorry 51 years now. Nowadays instead of phone calls, I like to embrace this concept of something called accountability keeping things in writing – you know like the contract we signed at the start of this project that contractors are to be held accountable for. In these things called emails that computers keep copy of, he says that the blinds were not up at the time of painting. But wait ladies and gentlemen, these things I mentioned called timestamps are on pictures that we have of the blinds up on dates that he said he had them removed while painting – see pics with blinds up.

He hired Roger to finish our basement and he did an amazing job! His team and subcontractors are veterans and did everything we asked. It turned out incredible. He stuck with his timeline, communicated the whole time, and went by the book to make sure everything passed code. Almost 11 months later we had a crack in the drywall ceiling (only issue we’ve had) and he fixed it right away. Highly recommend!!

Roger’s team completed two projects for us. One was a patio cover that turned out amazing and the second project was to finish our basement. We are very pleased with both remodeling projects and we are enjoying our new spaces! I highly recommend R.D. Schuller Construction.

I was trying to get a quote for fixing some problem for my house. First thing they talk to me is they need a $100 cash first to come out. And it has to be cash only… I gave him the cash, he took a look at the house and then he said he will write up the proposal. Never asked me what I need/want to fix exactly. The proposal came back with only 4 sentences related to the project for my house. No details or plan at all. And a full page of payment terms. I don’t think they care about what I want to happen to my house, they only care about the money.

Roger and his crew are top notch! I had Roger come to my house to look at a ceiling in my garage that needed to be repaired due to some previous water damage. This was just two days before my house went on the market, and I figured I would have to show my house with the large gaping holes in my ceiling. Although I know he and his crew were busy, he absolutely insisted that he get someone in to get it repair ASAP so it could be complete before our showings. Roger went out of his way to get this project done and done right over the next two days. The ceiling looked great…and we sold in one day:) . I would highly recommend this company!

Roger Schuller has an amazing group of contractors that he partners with. Roger was the only contractor in town that said, “Yes, we can do that.”…to every one of our challenging demands. Then, they backed it up with amazing quality and they beat their insanely short timeline too! He did our work in the rainy spring season and I remember 4′ mud channels in our yard created by his team working right through it all! By the end the project was completed ahead of schedule and was simply more than we could have ever expected. I will NEVER use or recommend any other builder in Omaha…ever!
