Charles and his crew at Millers Builders are fantastic. I have already recommended him personally to family, friends, and neighbors. It is worth finding a home improvement project you want to have done just to have him and his team around! They are polite, professional, and have a camaraderie that was honestly heartwarming. Charles is really good at thinking on the fly when the unexpected comes up (which, I’ve learned from years of home-ownership, is all the time). He adapts well when the client (i.e. me) wants to make changes as the project goes along. And his prices seem fair. He is on the job site every day, working with the crew in addition to overseeing the project, which I really liked. It provided accountability I haven’t seen from some other contractors. And, perhaps most importantly, the final product looks great! After Charles finished the first project I asked him to do I immediately asked him to do two more. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough!

Charles and his crew replaced an exterior door with frame and 27 feet of wood siding with dry rot. Communication was excellent. They arrived on-time and finished within a day and a half. The attention to detail and quality of the work was outstanding. Charles was flexible with changes along the way and always offered to do the work the best way. BIlling was fair and transparent. We will use them for future projects without hesitation.

I recently had Millers Builders do a repair job for a crumbling retaining/garden wall in our front yard. They were great to work with, quickly providing estimates for a couple options with very reasonable prices and timelines. They were extremely professional, courteous, and efficient. The project was completed ahead of schedule for less than estimated and the work was high quality. I would not hesitate to hire this company for projects in the future.

I hired Charles to rebuild a shower and floor in a half-bath in a finished basement. He provided a detailed spreadsheet of the itemized costs, including the hours it would take–a transparency you don’t often see. I really appreciated his creativity and enthusiastic willingness to work with me to find solutions to a job that turned out to be much more complicated than expected, in large part because of the unknowns uncovered in an old house. I’m very happy with the end-product and the quality of the work. I also appreciate that Charles pays his crew benefits; they are a dedicated crew who work well together and enjoy each other. They cleaned up every day and finished in a timely fashion. I would definitely rehire Millers Builders.

Charles Miller and crew did a fabulous job building a shed in my backyard. Charles provided me with a detailed estimate well before construction started. He was fully on board with my desire to reuse materials as much as possible. And when I suggested an unusual roof design, he switched gears immediately and together we figured out the best solution. Charles is a quick worker and this project demanded a lot of different skills, which he was able to accomplish carefully and accurately. He has excellent communication skills and is very tidy. I’ve already got my next project for Charles in mind.

Charles and his assistant fixed the frame of our front door and converted a rear door to swing outwards. Craftsmanship was excellent and it was clear they would not leave until the job was done 100% correctly. Our house was built in 1915, so it is safe to say the doors have a personality of their own. We appreciated the attention to detail and how Charles kept us informed of the process along the way. Will definitely hire Millers Builders in the future.

I hired Charles to build a planter box in my parents garden for their house located in Orinda. We worked together to figure out the best design for the space. He was able to complete the project in one day and it looks amazing! I would definitely hire him again. The entire process was smooth and he worked with me to figure out the best options for a price I was comfortable with. He provided great service!
