After the contractor we had hired to do deracho repairs decided they did not want to finish my project, we were recommended to Kevin and from the beginning he has been very professional, very upfront about prices. He actually did more work for the same price than what the original contractor was going to do. My house is 115 years old and when he started on the project, he realized there was even more work that needed to be done that the prior contractor just glossed over. If he wasn’t the best guy for the job, he brought in guys that were. I would recommend him for any work. He made my house beautiful and gave it a much needed facelift. I cannot say enough good about him and his company. Someone mentioned he showed up at various times but in construction, you have to work when it’s nice. Update: He did wonderful work but never came back to finish one spot that the siding sub-contractor did wrong, he and I had a plan-the other guys didn’t understand what was needing to be done so it was wrong. Then it became it’d be done with trim, that didn’t happen. He told me he would fix it the way he and I had originally discussed (and I still have some pieces of siding in my garage for the fix) a couple times and then started ignoring my calls/texts.

Kevin and his crew did an amazing and professional job with our project. They were punctual and were able to get a lot of work done in a quality way in just a couple days time. We are very pleased with the outcome and would recommend him to others who are in need of construction work.

My experience with Ridgewood Construction was the best! They were personable, kind and caring, and did quality work. They rescued me from the derecho damages to my house and property. I needed a new house roof, siding, storm doors, gutters and gutter covers. In addition, a large portion of the yard fence needed replaced. The crew was timely and thorough and kept me informed as projects moved forward. They even had a way to match the same paint color to my old shutters. That, special blue, brought the look of the new house shingles and siding to a very nice curbside appeal. These guys went the extra mile for me and I am so appreciate of that. They even connected me to an available concrete company for the sidewalk replacement. This summer they are hired back to remove and rebuild a new deck. I’m looking forward to their care and quality workmanship once again. Best family team business around!

I manage several dozen houses that are “group homes” for individuals with special needs in the Cedar Rapids, IA area. We use Ridgewood Construction whenever we can because they came highly recommended and now we have used them many times for roofs, fencing, all kinds of repairs from the derecho, etc. I had Kevin and his team do the repairs at my personal residence too and could not have been more satisfied.

I decided to work with Kevin due to his patience and compassion for an elderly neighbor after a major storm. He could have easily done what was requested and moved on. He didn’t. He made sure my neighbor had all of her concerns addressed and resolved. He went above and beyond for her. He did the same for me. These are the type of people I like to do business with.

Be careful. Would show up at all hours of the day, would randomly leave to go to other jobs before finishing what they started, did not listen to what we wanted. He blatantly lied about not being able to get supplies so our insurance would have to pay more for a bigger job. We asked for an itemized invoice for the work he did complete and have yet to receive it, they finished our roof in May of 2021.

They did some Derechp repairs for me The owner didn’t listen to me about some things I wanted or didn’t want. They also showed up unannounced at different times of the day or night. I requested some additional information since they completed the repairs and no one returns my calls or texts. Very dissatisfied. I would not recommend.

Ridgewood Construction rebuilt our fence destroyed in the Derecho. We were so pleased they were able to put the crown on the top of the fence like the old one. Not just the normal plain straight top. They did a GREAT job. They were prompt, courteous, very particular in their workmanship. They did the work, but always consulted the customer on how they wanted the job done. Very refreshing. We Highly recommend Ridgewood Construction!
