Build Inwood renovated my closets including demoing walls. They were very professional, clean, always on time and communicative. The owner, Calvin, made efforts to work with me to give me a final bid that met my needs and budget. I felt he gave the same professional courtesy as someone who might have given him a larger renovation project.

I am very pleased to recommend Calvin Crosby of Buildinwood LLC. I had the pleasure of working with Calvin on the renovation of my apartment this Fall, and I can recommend him highly and without reservation. Like many New Yorkers I must say that I dreaded starting a renovation project. I had heard so many unpleasant stories of renovations gone awry that had serious apprehensions going into this project. I have to say working with Calvin put them all to rest. Calvin and his team are consulate professionals that made the experience as painless and as positive as possible. The job was completed on time and on budget with little fuss and as little inconvenience as what possible. Calvin was not only accurate in his initial assessment of the scale and cost of the project, but he kept to it. were were no hidden cost or last minute adjustments that miraculously appeared. Moreover, he was absolutely clear in his record keeping and chose and managed the sub-contractors well. The renovation was done with care and precision and Calvin was happy to immediately fix to our satisfaction any small detail that we pointed out to him. In particular, he designed and built wooden heating element covers that doubled as bookshelves that really tied the whole apartment together. Calvin and his crew work efficiently and cleanly. the workplace was always tidied up and was never left in a. state of disarray. In fact, my super and the staff of my apartment building told me repeatedly that they have never worked with anyone as professional as Calvin when it came to respecting the rules and regulations of the Coop or keeping the workplace free of dust, grime or garbage. What I liked about Cavin in particular was his ability to give me common sense answers to any question I might have. He was knowledgeable about all aspects of the project, and he remained closely involved in overseeing it from start to finish. His excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills and commitment to follow-through are some of his most valuable qualities. Finally, Calvin’s familiarity with building codes and dealing with city hall also facilitated a smooth and hassle-free process when it came to building permits and inspection. As I said earlier, I was truly dreading going through the renovations process. But now that I have with Calvin’s help, I cannot be happier. Calvin transformed what was simply an apartment into a true home that I enjoy going back each and every day.

Build Inwood LLC and Calvin Crosby have deeply impressed us with their professionalism and work. Calvin worked with us at great length to figure out just what we needed and helped us design a project that fit into our budget while still getting to the heart of the problem. His team finished ahead of schedule and allowed us to redo the floor in the kitchen before they left! We are very happy and will definitely work with them again.

Build Inwood LLC is the first company that we’ve worked with in NYC who cared as much about our project as we did. They did a bathroom renovation and created a space that is our little oasis. Every request was listened to and every detail was asked about, thought about and even redone when the tough feature wasn’t working as envisioned. Highly recommend them to anyone!

Calvin built a beautiful bookcase for us that added storage and functionality to our space. he designed the perfect unit just as we envisioned it on budget and on time. he and his staff were very courteous and professional and were considerate in keeping the work areas clean and disturbances to a minimum. BuildInwood did a wonderful job on our preschool renovation. They were thorough, communicative, kept a clean workspace, and a rarity in NYC contractors — they finished on time. They addressed all of our needs and we have a wonderful new kitchenette and work room for our teaching staff, with the electrical in our very old building brought to NYC building code. Calvin and his team are great!
