I have had the very fortunate pleasure of working with the wonderful Whitney at OHI Design now for almost (3) years! I work in the construction industry as an interior design consultant. Working with someone who is on top of their game with responsiveness, has opinions that are honest and genuine, as well as enjoyable to be with are qualities that are few and far between. I typically get clients who will comment, “all of the choices are so overwhelming”, but working with Whitney I am now used to hearing, “This was surprisingly easy and SO MUCH FUN!”. I am stoked to continue this relationship for years to come! Many thanks to Whitney’s husband Scott as well for allowing the freedom in designing to stay timeless, yet consistent and within trends! Thus allowing the clients we work with a unique and personalized experience for each and every space we all get to craft together! Highly highly recommend!!!

We are so grateful that we found OHI Design to design and execute our kitchen remodel. The communication was wonderful between the entire team, even the owner was in contact with us to make sure we were happy with everything. We loved that they are family owned and operated and it was obvious they put the home owners experience first. Our kitchen turned out beautifully and was complete in time for us to host a huge Thanksgiving dinner. We would definitely recommend them to anyone and can’t wait to have them back to do our bathroom soon!

OHI was just incredible. We worked with Scott and Whitney to do a major kitchen redesign and it was a daunting process and they made us feel less nervous. We are very pleased with the work OHI Design did for us and strongly recommend them. Our remodel was quite extensive – family room and kitchen (great room), powder room, mudroom, foyer and staircase remodel. Their estimate was very reasonable and the contract was detailed. The project included gutting the kitchen, mudroom and powder room, removing tile and hardwood flooring, leveling and reinforcing the subfloors and installing large format tile. They also coffered the ceiling, installed new lighting, cabinets and rough ins for appliances. There was electrical, plumbing, drywall and ventilation work as well. (For warranty reasons, most of our appliances were installed by factory recommended installers – and even they commented on the quality of workmanship). Scott and Whitney worked closely with us throughout the project and were always very responsive. The design work and renderings were first rate. Al, Javier and Carlos worked almost every day for five months until the project was complete. The attention to detail and craftsmanship is top notch, even in things that are hidden. The result is exactly what we had hoped for.

I work with OHI on a regular basis as a vendor and I love how organized Whitney is. Her creative and bubbly spirit makes her a joy to work with. Working through a remodel with all the moving parts is a difficult task on a good day and Whitney carries out her duties with a smile and a laugh making a stressful process feel like a breeze. Anyone can treat their clients like gold – OHI does that AND they treat their vendors like gold too. That’s more rare than it should be these days. Working with Herb and Whitney closely to make people’s dream space come true is absolutely MY pleasure. 😁

Our family has used OHI several times now for home renovation projects including both kitchen and bath. OHI recently renovated our kitchen and we could not be more pleased with the finished project. The process was easy to understand from beginning to end and not only the project manager but the owners themselves communicated with us along the way. OHI also ensures that any messes and tools are put up at the end of each day so that when we arrived home the house was in good shape to live in despite not having our kitchen. Al, Carlos and Javier who did the actual construction and carpentry work are extremely polite and answered any questions we had along the way. Al and his team do outstanding work and have great attention to detail. When OHI started our project they worked every day until the project was done. OHI and the team ensured that despite the stresses of home renovation, it was as stress free as possible. My family and I highly recommend using OHI for your home renovation projects. They treat you with respect, get the job done right and stand by their work. We have used them a few times already and will use them again for future projects.

We are on our 3rd renovation with OHI Design. First was the kitchen, then finishing the basement and now our master bathroom. All 3 projects have turned out amazing. We have worked with Whitney and Scott on the 2 most recent projects. They are incredibly patient and responsive. Scott is willing to work the plans until they are exactly what you want. No detail it too small—he is 100% supportive of changing whatever needs to be changed so that you end up happy. Whitney is the engine that makes the process hum. She it relentless in her efforts to search high and low for every detail to make the final product perfect. She can send 15 options and if you say no—she finds 15 more. She has contacts all over NOVA who obviously love working with her and are willing to go the extra mile to get her clients what they want. And she has fantastic design ideas. The best thing ability OHI is their cost value. They charge a fraction of what CASE and other “high end” companies charge—without sacrificing any service. They are a wonderful company to work with and I can’t recommend them more highly.

We have used OHI Twice to remodel a total of three bathrooms. The first experience was about a 3 star experience. The biggest issue we had the first time around was the lack of communication and “hands off” approach that the project manager used. OHI uses outside contractors to do the labor and it is hit or miss the quality of folks you have and the consistency of work itself. Typically (at least in our experience) this means inconsistent labor — we never knew when the contractor was going to show or not. The end result was a good design and we did — finally — get 2 nice bathrooms. We decided to give them a shot again with our basement bathroom. We were quoted a 3-5 week timeline. This go round, we had a contactor that moved like molassas, did not get the work done that he was supposed to, and it wasn’t until week five and us calling the project manager to say what the heck is going on, before the management even looked at the job. This lack of oversight now means that I have bare electrical wires going to my fuse box, unfinished work all over the very small bathroom and we are in the middle of week 7 of the start of the job. If I could rate this company lower I would. Unresponsive, shoddy work at a premium price, and inconsistent quality of their contractors all contribute to a TERRIBLE experience and frankly, feeling like we have been completely taken advantage of. -Added comment- We are now on week 9 of the job and it is not done. I want to be clear – design work by Whitney and Scott is A+ – they do stellar work. Not the issue here. the issue is project management and management communication in general. The PM was completely oblivious to the issues on the job and I feel that if we did not contact him, none of the issues we had would have been addressed. OHI needs to address their management, project management, and communication issues. It is completely unfair to leave the communication up to your design and sales team. Wake up management!

I really enjoyed working with OHI Design. The designers, Whitney and Scott are a husband and wife team who offered a lot of insight into my new kitchen layout ideas. I really liked the workers (shoutout to Al and his team) who were dedicated to getting everything exactly how I wanted it. There was good communication throughout the project from the project manager, the designers and the workers as they made sure all my questions were answered. Everything went off without a hitch and I am left with a wonderful new kitchen.
