We absolutely loved working with Silver! They added a primary bedroom suite on the back of our home and completely gutted the upstairs. They provided a very detailed cost estimate up front, and our final cost was very close to that. They worked very closely with our architect and the city on permitting, and are very knowledgeable on building codes. They use a great scheduling software, so we knew what decisions were coming up. As we began to choose finishes, plumbing, electrical, cabinets, etc… they were so wonderful at listening to what we wanted and then giving us some different options to choose from. Also, when decision fatigue set in, they were able to choose for us. Amber, their project manager, does such a wonderful job keeping communication open and making the whole process as easy as possible. The construction and finish work is such high quality! Elliott and his team do a really nice job. They have great attention to detail and take pride in their work. Elliott really wants you to love the space. He even came back a few times after our project to change things because we had changed our minds. We absolutely love the finished product. We still walk through our house after being home for several months and cannot believe how beautiful it is! We would certainly use Silver again, and we have already recommended them to several friends.

Elliott, Alphonso, and Amber were amazing to work with. I contracted with Silver Contracting in 2023 to do a major remodel and upgrade for our home built in the early 70s. The work included creating an open concept living and kitchen area, laundry room and office updates, two bathroom refreshes, a primary bedroom and bathroom remodel, and complete electrical upgrades. Silver Contracting was recommended by the architect we were using, and everyone we talked to said they were top notch. Our experience proved that correct. What made this remodel more difficult was that we requested the project be completed while we were finishing up residing on the east coast. Even with this challenge, the Silver Contracting team was very accommodating and easy to work with. We were able to complete the project with three in-person visits. We were able to make all our material selections on the east coast and made virtual site visits through facetime to supplement our in-person visits. There were minor issues along the way, but Elliott and Amber always communicated the issue clearly and we worked together to resolve the situation. The project budget clearly indicated the initial budget allowance for the various materials and work components, and the only changes in costs were due to our final personal choices. The scheduling software utilized by Silver Contracting made it easy to track the progress and project was completed on time, if not a little early. Elliott is not only knowledgeable in the industry but also is an amazing finishing carpenter bringing skills acquired from back east. Friends and family rave about the window and doorway trim, as well as the custom fireplace surround. The project turned out amazing. We were sad for the completion of the project because we thoroughly enjoyed working with the Silver Contracting team. By the end they felt like family. We would recommend and use Silver Contracting again a thousand times over.

Elliott and Amber were great to work with. I contracted with Silver Contracting in 2022 to remodel the kitchen and update the bathroom in my 87-year-old house. The last time the kitchen had been remodeled was in 1970, so a remodel was long overdue. Frankly, I put off the remodel for a long time because I heard horror stories from friends about how stressful a remodel is and the thought of trying to find a contractor that I could trust to do a good job was a bit overwhelming. A friend of mine recommended Silver Contracting. From the beginning through the end of the project, Elliott and Amber made the entire process smooth. In fact, it was actually fun. There were a few surprises along the way, which should be expected, especially when remodeling an old house. Elliott always communicated the issue clearly to me and provided options for dealing with the issue. The total cost of the project was a little more than I had initially planned to spend, but I couldn’t be happier with the results. The kitchen and bath are beautiful.

Amber, Elliot, and co did a wonderful job converting our single-car attached garage into a bright, modern dining room. The final result looks great and they were able to accommodate specific requests. Amber and Elliot came over and conducted a final inspection with us to make sure that there were no outstanding issues. They were forthright about the costs and options available up us without being pushy. All of the estimates were provided up front and were largely accurate. There were no major surprises with costs over the course of the project. They kept us informed about supplier delays and the impact on construction timeframes. This was very helpful because a window was very delayed from the manufacturer and they were able to move the whole job back instead of leaving a gaping hold on our house for a couple months over the winter . We didn’t have to worry about any coordination or scheduling; they took care of all of that. The work was done completed quickly and had no issues from the inspectors. Everyone who worked on the job was very friendly and competent. In addition, they placed a high priority on keeping our living space clean from construction debris and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves when the project was complete.

Elliott and his team have done several projects for us including an addition with a full basement, reframing, insulating, drywalling and replacing windows in our upstairs, renovating our bathroom upstairs and a kitchen renovation. They did a great job matching the historic trim inside and out. Elliott, his team and subs are easy to work with, clean and respectful. I was careful to review his bids and put my expectations in writing so it was clear what was in scope and what was not and he and Amber did the same. The quality of work is good and I like that they are a local business. I would highly recommend Silver contracting.

My family and I decided to make a modest addition to our new home in Louisville, a pop-top over one of our home’s split-levels. After reviewing three detailed quotes and one ballpark quote, we hired Silver Contracting to construct this addition. Silver Contracting’s quote was the lowest of the three detailed quotes, quite similar to the ballpark quote, and most in line with our budget. Moreover, Silver Contracting had strong online reviews and references, and our architect (and another architect whom we considered) thought that Silver Contracting would be a good match for our project. Silver Contracting completed our project about half a year ago, and so far we are very much satisfied with Silver Contracting’s work. Elliott Silver of Silver Contracting is a friendly, easy-going general contractor with decades of experience. We got along very well with Elliott for the whole duration of our project. Communicating with Elliott was always easy and straightforward, and he was always completely receptive to our input. Elliott is almost always busy—he seems to like to operate in this manner—but he was always on top of our project, and he was always available to communicate. One of Elliott’s references advised us to give Elliott a day or two to think over any construction issues that arose during the project. I would agree with this advice: Elliott would mull over such issues and come back with a good solution. Likewise, Silver Contracting’s manager Amber is great: communications with Amber were always easy, straightforward, and timely, and she was always on top of our project, paying close attention to details. Silver Contracting’s dedicated construction crew, led by Alphonso, was always courteous, friendly, and helpful. Silver Contracting’s subcontractors were also friendly and polite. We have been quite satisfied with their work; only a few painting details could have been executed more thoroughly. Silver Contracting started and finished our project essentially when promised. In fact, Silver Contracting’s construction crew often worked more quickly than we expected. On a few occasions this led to construction details needing to be redone as we had not communicated slight modifications to the architectural plans in a timely enough manner. A few punch list items took longer than expected to complete, but none of these items were pressing, and Silver Contracting took care of a few extra miscellaneous fixes.

Very happy with our 3rd car garage addition. The finished project turned out better than we anticipated. Elliot was professional and did a great job managing the multiple contractors that it took to complete this project. On budget and no regrets. Highly recommend Silver Contracting.

This is the second project we have contracted with Silver Contracting and once again they did not disappoint. Elliot and his team worked tirelessly to ensure the basement in our new home was finished to our complete satisfaction. We contacted Elliot prior to the pandemic being a concern and we were all set to begin construction when Covid-19 restrictions went into place. We still wanted to continue with the project, but were also concerned about having people working in our home during the pandemic. We worked out a mutually satisfactory solution to ensure they could keep working while keeping us isolated from the workers. Throughout the project communications was excellent and any issues/concerns were quickly managed. Amber, the project manager, and Randall the project supervisor were always available when needed and both did outstanding work. The subcontractors used during the project were always courteous and on time. The project consisted of new bedroom, full bath, exercise room, built in shelves, desk and great room. We could not be happier with our new basement. We highly recommend Silver Contracting.
