We had a great experience with Johnson and Sons Construction (JASC) on our extensive remodel. Their team is knowledgeable, considerate, and quite competent. Our remodel entailed removing/adding walls and plumbing, extensive electrical improvements, all new millwork, doors, flooring, custom cabinetry, quartz countertops, plumbing and light fixtures, tilework, paint and wallpaper. Despite unforeseen complications (unknown pluming, structural and ventilation issues in our older building), JASC bent over backwards to keep the project moving forward. We highly recommend JASC for any projects you might have.

Vic Johnson helped us through a very difficult kitchen restoration project after a water leak. He was especially helpful in our negotiations with our insurance company, writing up separate estimates for restoring the kitchen as it was and for doing some upgrades we opted for. Vic has an excellent set of subcontractors, and they were able to bring the project in under budget. We would definitely hire them again.

In 2022, we decided to add a new kitchen and substantially remodel our mid-1960s Edmonds rambler. After reading many on-line reviews and meeting with several contractors we decided to go with Johnson and Sons…..and we are so very happy that we did. From the very start we were impressed with how open, honest and responsive Vic Johnson was, a trend that continued throughout our project. As you might imagine, a significant remodel and addition to a 60-year old home is likely to bring with it surprises and our remodel was no exception. Despite the many challenges encountered, Johnson and Son and their subcontractors readily overcame them. Among the many lessons we learned during our remodel was the value of quality subcontractors. Vic’s relationship with his subs in some cases extend more than a decade and the depth of these relationships was reflected by the quality and timeliness of their work. All in all we feel that the workmanship, attention to detail and care shown by all involved in our remodel was superb. We highly recommend Johnson and Sons to anyone looking to remodel their home.

We recently worked with Johnson and Sons for the third time, and once again, they exceeded our expectations. Having previously remodeled two bathrooms and repaired flood damage, we entrusted them with our kitchen remodel. The team’s professionalism, expertise, and commitment to quality craftsmanship were evident once again throughout the process. Their insightful solutions, (we didn’t work with a designer), excellent communication, and meticulous attention to detail sets them apart. Johnson and Sons Construction gave us an estimate to replace everything but the flooring in the primary bathroom. It was beyond my budget and Vic was very amenable to reducing the scope of work to a point that the re-do was affordable. They gave great recommendations for the finishes and styles and worked with my work schedule to make this project happen. I appreciated their flexibility and they were on schedule and on time when they promised. I’m very happy!!

The project started as just a kitchen remodel, but after consultation with the Vic Johnson, his team, and cabinet design folks, we decided to remodel the majority of the first floor of the home: New kitchen layout, new cabinets and pulls, new french doors replacing sliding glass doors, new single panel doors replacing standard 6 panel doors, new trim/baseboards/headers above doors/windows and crown molding, new switches/outlets and additional under cabinet lights, can ceiling and pendant lights, new appliances, and repainting. Vic Johnson and team were extremely knowledgeable about construction in general, friendly and accommodating throughout the entire process answering a multitude of questions, pivoting when needed, helping educate us homeowners of the hows and whys, and bending over backwards to make things right…when work wasn’t going to plan (and remodels never go perfectly as planned). They were fair, and provided an enormous value. I’d highly recommend Johnson and Sons for any remodel you may have.

I interviewed several contractors before choosing Johnson & Sons and chose them after speaking to three of their references. They received outstanding recommendations that went FAR above “5 stars…they are great.” Each of the references had a story about how their experience with Johnson & Sons exceeded expectations, about how Vic was a superior project manager, about how they hired Johnson & Sons for project after project. After hearing several horror stories from people who had worked with others, I am delighted to report that our experience with Johnson & Sons for a master bath remodel was accomplished on time, under budget, and as promised! Vic excels at communication, Jon is a skilled contractor, Tony is skilled at almost everything. Another item for the “plus” column is that Johnson & Sons has found success using certain sub-contractors repeatedly, and we benefitted from those long-standing relationships

Johnson & Sons remodeled our 1990’s kitchen and replaced all of the flooring on the first floor and staircase of our home during the months of May – August of 2022. We met with multiple local companies to bid the work and Vic’s bid came in under or comparable to the other estimates we received. We chose their company based on referral, price, and comfort level with Vic. Vic is fantastic to work with. He is knowledgeable, responsive, and creates a culture of partnership on his team’s projects. This was our first time tackling a renovation project of this scope and using a general contractor. Vic and his team made the experience comfortable and as enjoyable as it could be considering we had no kitchen! 🙂 There was a long wait time to get the project started due to Covid-caused supply issues on Johnson and Sons other jobs (we originally met with Vic in June of 2021 and the work did not start until May of 2022). It was hard to be patient, but it actually worked in our favor. Being able to choose and purchase materials in advance meant no supply issues or back orders once our project got started. Every sub that Vic and Jon used on our job or vendor he referred us to was professional, kind, and did a great job. If we ever had a question about quality or how the job was progressing (and we had a lot — remember we’d never done this before!) Vic was patient, flexible, and worked with us until we were satisfied. As our job progressed, issues within our home were uncovered that were not in the scope of work included in our kitchen remodel. A water leak was found in an adjacent wall when kitchen drywall was removed, and holes in our roof were discovered when the electrician was in the attic running conduit. Even though these setbacks were not part of our kitchen remodel, Vic’s guys jumped in and found solutions or recommended sub contractors to solve problems. There were multiple times that we had questions and within minutes either Vic or Jon were on site to address a concern or answer a question– even after our job was complete. We could not be more excited about our new kitchen or pleased with our choice of contractor. We are already planning to hire Johnson and Sons again to renovate our primary bathroom!

Johnsons and Sons, once again, make the vision a realty. New floors, cabinets, countertops, paint, lighting in our Laundry Room/Mud Room-entryway (and new fireplace!). Top to bottom: perfect. Vic’s communication throughout the project never left us guessing who was coming when and what we could expect on a day-to-day basis. He was always very clear on the cost and timing, no surprises. Jon gets the work DONE; I’m not sure there’s anything he cannot do. And Tony . . . his tile work is second to none. We’ve asked Tony to tackle many and varied tile projects; his attention to detail has never left us disappointed and his finished product has always been the highlight. The Johnson and Sons subs (flooring, drywall, paint, electrical) are courteous, professional, and timely. When things are “missed” or overlooked (as ALWAYS happens with ANY project), the subs promptly return to get the work done, never a problem. Two more rooms to go and Johnson and Sons will have touched every room of our house.
