My home was recently remodeled by The Hammer & Heart remodelers. While the remodel itself is nice, my experience with the company overall was not. There was a lack of communication throughout the entire process (14 months), I felt they didn’t view my home as a priority, on top of them leaving my backyard trashed. One of the first things they did was replace the windows(June/July 2022) and left glass everywhere. I mentioned clean up of the glass then because I have a dog and I was assured it would be taken care of. Not only did I mention the clean up of the glass, my inspector did as well. In August of 2023, they finished the last of the remodel which was replacing the basement windows. After the windows were replaced everything was left near the bottom of the steps in my backyard. When asked if someone was coming to remove the pile of trash, again, I was assured someone would be there for cleanup. It is now December and there is still glass everywhere and a pile of scraps and trash from the basement window replacement after repeatedly and KINDLY asking for it to be removed. EDIT: It is now June of 2024 and still no response

Great experience having H& H remodel our kitchen. Loved the design process & fresh, modern thinking. Very professional team & they remained mindful of our budget. Would def hire again.

A bit of a mixed review here, a friend connected me with the team at Hammer and Heart. Throughout the process Ian was extremely difficult to communicate with, and it was hard to get a response on anything. The timeline started with a down payment in October, after that I was told several times the project would start in November, December, January, and finally Ken the owner stepped in and we were able to start in February. If I was rating my experience with Ian, it would be one star or less. Ken the owner came in last minute to try to fix the issues on site, get the project timeline moving, but when it all ended we had one window slightly lower than the other, trim off, blinds that no longer fit the window correctly. I think Ken tried to fix the issues to some extent which is why this review goes up to a 3 instead of a 1 star, however, I agreed to a small credit since it would be a large ongoing project and difficult for me and my family to sit through ongoing repairs. 4/30/2024, updating my post, panel below the door they installed in coming loose, front door has a gap, besides the windows not being level air seems to come through, and my new fan goes spastic when I turn it on (they removed the fan to install new wiring) and this is the first time I’ve tried to use it, I also never saw a copy of the permit (hopefully they pulled that at least)

Ian and Kenneth are not only responsive, trustworthy, economical, and thoughtful; they are legitimately good people that do good work. Working with them on our house addition has been a joy and we would recommend them to any of our friends, family, and neighbors (and did!).

We hired Hammer and Heart construction company for a room addition project, and we are very happy with their work. They were professional, courteous, and efficient throughout the whole process. They listened to our needs and preferences and delivered exactly what we wanted. They also communicated well with me and my wife to kept us updated on the progress of the project. They finished the work within a time frame and within the budget. The quality of their work was excellent, and they paid attention to every detail. They also cleaned up after themselves and left my place spotless. We would highly recommend them. They are a reliable and friendly construction company. They are the best in the business! I reached out to Ian after a recommendation from a friend. I had a nice phone call with him and told him I knew our budget was really tight, but wanted to see if we could make something work. A while later I emailed him to get an update and he said he would be done with the estimate the next day. That was the last I heard from Ian. A month and three emails to him later, I still heard nothing. If you don’t want to do the job, can’t make our budget work, or just need more time, just tell me. But to completely ghost people is rude and unprofessional. Can’t recommend them to anyone.

They refinished our basement and they did a fantastic job. We added a bathroom, drywall, lvp flooring and custom cabinetry. The quality is outstanding and the professionalism of the entire team was top notch. Would definitely recommend for any home renovation project and look forward to using them again for our kitchen renovation.
