I lived in an apartment that was undergoing renovations when my TV was broken due to their carelessness. Despite multiple calls and emails, no one took responsibility or even acknowledged the incident. This was extremely unprofessional and rude. There are many more reputable construction groups in Charleston; I recommend considering those instead of Richter. Edit: Just saw their response today and it’s a blatant lie I have the emails for all of this and no one ever got back to me but are still commenting on Google about it YEARS later. Shows who they really are.

I cannot speak highly enough about the work Kennedy-Richter did on our building. They were all extremely competent and professional, workers and management alike. They have repaired all the problems we had and given us a brand new, beautiful building. It was particularly a pleasure to work with Mike Bennett, the on-site manager. He was incredibly efficient and responsive. He and his workers made the project so much easier and better than it could have been. The project was brought in ahead of schedule and on budget, even though several things had to be added as we went along. We will actually miss our day to day interactions with Mike B and all the wonderful workers who worked so diligently on our project. Thank you to you all.

BEWARE! They were MORE THAN 10 months OVER on the timeline for completion for some simple remodeling to our home, leaving us stranded and having to rent for a few extra months than in the budget. They added extra costs for extra laborers and “things they couldn’t have foreseen (half way into the project) being extra problems they’d have to fix”? For an entire week they didn’t show up the to house when my husband was checking on the progress, he mentioned he had been going by the house and they immediately starting sending more crew out again to lallygag around. Also, our neighbors called complaining that the workers had harassed their 16 yo daughter. Fast forward living there after a year now, we somehow have mold behind drywall and bathroom leaks. BEWARE!

I met with six contractors to discuss repair renovations needed for mold and water damage in the house. What drew me to hiring Kennedy-Richter Construction was their professionalism, prompt communication and thorough review of engineering reports. In his walk-thru of the house, Paul Kennedy discovered code violations and water damage that had been overlooked by our engineers during litigation. The statutes of limitation was nearing during litigation, and we unfortunately settled for an amount far below the cost to repair all damage in the home. We spent weeks negotiating costs to repair the entire home; however, the settlement made it difficult to do so. Paul worked within the budget we provided and constructed several repair plans to choose from, stating pros and cons for each. Two days later, he and his team were on-site beginning construction. Every contractor I interviewed with had multiple repair projects going on with four contractors quoting me a 6-month start date. Kennedy-Richter Construction, also with simultaneous projects, showed their appreciation for our business by making this project, important to us, a project important to them. The project was completed in two months. The entire Kennedy-Richter Team were exceptionally professional, respectful of my personal belongings and provided me with privacy while living in the home. The superintendent, Mike, was on-site every day directly communicating with me their findings and updating me on next steps. He answered my call at midnight about a small water leak and immediately made his way over for damage control. I wouldn’t wish anyone the pain of repairing water damage in a home, but in the unfortunate situation, the Kennedy-Richter Team will take good care of you and your home.
