We are currently in the process of building our home in Rochester with Hillan Homes! We made a ton of customizations to our floor plan to make it exactly how we wanted it and are so excited for it to be completed. Patrick (owner) has been incredibly responsive (sometimes same day responses) regarding questions/delays. We are first time home builders so we aren’t sure what to expect time wise. I noticed no one has posted their build timeline here so I thought it would be helpful if we posted ours in case anyone else was wondering: Feb 2023 – Closed on the build/construction loan July 2023 – Building permits issued by City of Rochester Sept 2023 – Broke ground Oct 2023 – Basement walls poured Nov 2023 – Sewer and Garage Blocks (no framing yet) Dec 2023 – Framing, Roofing, Windows and Exterior doors We’ll edit this as we go to update the timeline for the major milestones! Our target completion date is March 2024.

Hillan Homes did an excellent job on our project. My husband and I are extremely happy with the whole process and LOVE the final result. Everyone at Hillan Homes were great to work with. We would definitely recommend this company to anyone who’s looking for a construction company.

Would not give them a star. The most terrible work sites I’ve ever seen homes not built going through the winter full of snow etc literally watched them pumping out the floors of new home because they never secured the roof before hand. I’ll attach many photos if needed it’s absolutely ridiculous that someone is paying over 500k for a house made out of mainly OSB board which if anyone knows does not like water. I just can’t understand the quality of todays work it’s terrible

Our house was built by Hillan and is beautiful. Many typical upgrades included in the build and quality products/materials used. Architecture is unique and custom, no two homes are exactly the same. It truly is a custom built home!

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of working with their team to complete the construction of our luxury dream home, and we are absolutely thrilled with the end result. Seem to build nice houses, but they are poor at securing their building sites. Contractors constantly leave the security gate open and unlocked. Including when they had dug and poured basements. Just lucky a child didn’t fall in. Their onsite porta-potty turned into a bum bathroom.

It was a dream of ours to build a home with Hillan Homes and we finally were able to. . . smack dab in the middle of the lockdown/pandemic in 2020-2021. The process was elongated with the pandemic, but we just rolled with it (what can you do?). We chose Hillan because of their reputation for great workmanship and their fairness with pricing, upgrades and reputation. Hillan works with the best people from electrical, plumbing, custom stairs, trim work, etc. The attention to detail was important to me and Hillan delivered! We are very happy with our experience and would definitely work with Hillan to build again. Jay, our project manager, was fantastic! He is so experienced and also maintained a high-level of expectations from the contractors. Sure there were issues, you should expect bumps in the road with any major project, but the issues were solved right away. For e.g., we had a ton of design questions (and specific requirements) and Patrick (owner) and Beth (homeowner liaison/realtor) were happy to meet with us. They also gave us their experienced opinions when we were making decisions. We learned a ton going through this building process and recommend Hillan Homes to anyone! My advice when building your custom dream home is to communicate, communicate, communicate. If you have something specific in mind, show pictures! Trust, but verify, and do not assume you are talking the same language. Our new home is in Berkley, Michigan.
