Definitely listen to the other reviews. Quoted 16k to place curbing and stone but the final bill was 26k without ever attempting to provide additional quotes. I asked the question about whether or not the curbing would make the water drainage worse near my AC units. I was told “we will take care of the drainage”. Not sure what that meant… but on the bill, there were several French drains installed without ever providing a quote in the amount of $3798.00. We had them trim our 5 Arica palms in our backyard. Without ever providing a quote, they completed the work and charged $2798.00. These same palms were trimmed by a professional company last year for only $350. Confronted Victor about this poor professionalism and the need to speak with customers first before charging an additional $10k on a bill… the response I received was “you didn’t ask”. Several of the items in question were never even discussed. With that being said, Victors crew is amazing. They provide quality work and do a great job cleaning up after themselves. For the quality of work I figured it to be fair to keep 3 stars for the review as I’m not seeking to bash a company. It’s just ashamed that customers are blind sided like this. After reading reviews, it is sad to see that we are not the only ones that were taken advantage of. After the counseling of a neighbor that is in the law business, we are currently proceeding under the advisement of legal counsel to discuss our options.

Victor was good to work with during installation of stone, plants, curbing and trees. We had an issue with one of the trees not surviving but this company stood behind their guarantee and replaced the tree.

I paid this company $1,000 down payment for a $3,200 job. I had already removed 90% of the sod myself with a Skid Steer Bobcat, so I just needed them to prep a little & install the sod. The “owner” asked me to sign a new contract because his people broke a few sprinkler heads when removing a few patches of sod, no big deal but THEY DIDN’T WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. However I had ANOTHER COMPANY replace the entire yards sprinklers for $375. Anyway, he refused to show back up to complete the job. So I asked for a REFUND OF MY $800 because they only did MAYBE $200 worth of work raking up some dirt, & THEY REFUSED TO REFUND MY MONEY FOR A JOB THAT WAS NEVER DONE, NOT EVEN PREPPING THE ENTIRE AREAS. Needless to say, I’ll be filing a lawsuit shortly for treble the damages for them refusing to refund my money, trying to scam me etc. I’ve heard from neighbors in my gated community that there are SEVERAL OTHER COMPANIES THAT DO THE SAME THING SO BE CAUTIOUS WHEN MAKING A DOWN PAYMENT, ESPECIALLY WITH THIS COMPANY.

Victor’s crew did a beautiful job installing the top soil and sod. They also installed a new sprinkler system to maintain the grass. Excellent company! highly recommend

Victor and company was hired by my landscape architect to remove all existing plants around my house. In doing so an irrigation line was corrupted and had to be repaired. This company wanted $600 to repair. I had to have the system repaired ASAP for the new plants being planted the next day. Victor had me over a barrel and took full advantage of the fact. It took his employee three hours to fix. That’s $200 a man hour. His employee told me he makes $15 an hour. This is on top of my paying them thousands of dollars in the first place. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE.

I’ve used A Cut Above the Best for re-sodding my entire yard and then maintaining it monthly with fertilizers & pest control and my yard was the best looking yard in the neighborhood! They do excellent work!!!

This was serious investment for us that involved irrigation installation and install of new sod. The sprinkler installation went smoothly as did the soil prep and even the sod installation. But then the trouble began. FIRST: Poor communication about how much to water and for how long. I noticed some browning in the sod after about 2 weeks–tho we were faithful in the watering program they recommended. I asked them about the browning in the lawn–they said they looked at it and it was “OK.” In about 4 weeks the whole lawn was browning and thinning. I reported it to them and they finally sent out techs to apply insect granules and nitrogen treatment. I had to hound them for this. When the techs came they spent about 10 minutes scattering granules and nitrogen the next day. They also reported that I had mowed the lawn (which was not true). Then, I had a REAL lawn expert look at the lawn and he told me it was infested with sod webworm eating it up. Now, I’ve learned that this pest takes about 10 weeks from eggs being laid to it attacking the lawn.. This tells me the sod was infested when they installed it–not after, there wasn’t time. Also, they told me that there would be no warranty on the sod unless I would pay another 5-figure amount up front. BTW, I had to pay upfront for the whole installation. My advice: Hire someone else.
