Dan did a complete landscape design for our home. It looked good when first completed & looks great several years later. The plan allowed space for the plants to grow & mature while not requiring a lot of maintenance. We highly recommend this company!

Worth every penny. I had designed my own backyard patio and was pricing pavers out with local KC supplier. Once I started to realize the amount of work and material cost I was getting into I started thinking that maybe I should get a professional’s advice on my ” Grand Design”. I asked the paver supplier if there was anyone local who worked with homeowners on smaller projects. His first recommendation was “All by Design”. I contacted Dan, the owner of All by Design, and later that day I dropped off my design and pictures I had collected of the look I wanted in my patio. For a nominal fee, Dan came out to my house and took some measurements of the back of the house and took some elevation readings as well. Within a few days I met with Dan and he went over the design that he came up with. ten minutes into our meeting I was so glad I had a professional look at my design and pictures. Dan’s design achieved the look I was going for in every aspect. It was a much more elegant design that would fit the back of the house and my yard much better than my design. As I was going to be building this patio myself with my son’s help, having a professionals design to go by really made if feasible to do so. Dan’s design was much easier to construct and avoided about a half dozen pitfalls that were in my original design. Dan also gave me excellent advice on construction techniques and materials that i wasn’t aware of. His advice saved me money on materials and more importantly a lot of time in constructing the patio. I would highly recommend Dan if you’re looking to add a patio or outdoor landscaping project, whether you’re going to have it built or do it yourself.

Dan has done several landscape design projects at both my home and my commercial properties. Each project has resulted in huge improvements to the properties. Dan is very easy to work with does a great job of presenting various landscape options. When I wanted to make some tweaks to the plan, he would modify the drawings and get them back to me within a day. His final drawings are very detail oriented, making it very easy to get bids on the project and for the landscapers to complete the work. I recommended Dan to one of my neighbors, who just completed their project last week, and they are also thrilled with the results. I will never attempt another landscaping project without Dan’s assistance!

Dan was so great to work with in redesigning our landscape. He was friendly, punctual, thorough and incredibly easy to work with. The level of detail and amount of care he provided in both the plans and written communication far exceeded my expectations. At several points in the design process my husband and I remarked to each other that this was some of the best money we have invested in to our home. Highly recommend!

Dan is a remarkable and gifted designer, and a brilliant land plan engineer. We liked him immediately upon meeting him and enjoyed every step of the design process (including our multiple revisions, Dan is REALLY patient and a GREAT listener!). Dan also went the extra mile several times with visits to our house to make sure the landscaping company executed our plans down to literally the inch. We started with a dire need for landscaping to address a number of issues at the house. We now have a master plan for our home, a great first phase complete thanks to Dan, and a phased plan to achieve the rest. We are so appreciative of All By Design KC and all of Dan’s time and talent! Would give 10 stars if we could.

I have never hired a professional to design landscaping before. As a novice, I had no idea how this process would work. On our first visit, Dan was punctual, professional, and friendly. We walked the yard together and I gave him a summary of what we hoped to achieve. He had an uncanny ability to grasp what I wanted and immediately gave me ideas for improvements. He took detailed measurements of the lot and of the slope of the land before he left. He stayed in touch, sent me a preliminary design, and we tweaked it a couple of times before he was done. Dan’s design perfectly captured my ideas, and incorporated them into a plan that was far beyond my expectations. We had some drainage issues that he addressed in his design, and his plant recommendations will bring beauty that I would never have been able to imagine on my own. He was worth every penny of his fee, and I have NO complaints. I would highly recommend Dan. He is friendly, professional, and very helpful from concept to completion.

This was my first time working with a landscape designer. Dan was amazing. He helped to completely redesign our entire yard. All sides of our home now looks amazing. The natural bolder retaining wall is also a very unique touch. Something different from the rest of our neighbors and compliments our home nicely. We recently did a new deck build so the design around the deck compliments the double-tiered deck and patio very nicely. Dan incorporated the all season color I was looking for but also helped create landscaping that I could afford. I would highly recommend All By Design KC for any landscaping project.
