Matt and his team did an awesome job installing a flagstone patio! They were very accommodating, addressing all my concerns, providing innovating solutions, all at a fair and reasonable price. He will be my first call for any future projects.

When Matt, came out for our consultation, he was friendly and knowledgeable. He wasn’t pushy or try to upsell on things we didn’t need or want. He had a look at our vast wasteland of emptiness and mud. He asked the right questions such as what we’d like, what we were interested in , as well as if we had any inspirations that we could share with him. Once he had an idea, he sent over his preliminarily design , and after a few small tweaks / mutual suggestions, he hit the ground running. We’re glad we let him run with it, it turned out amazing. It was fun watching how excited he’d get when he was telling us what he was planning/doing. Matt genuinely enjoys what he does and bringing your project to life . I’d recommend The Yardfather to anyone that is looking for a landscape project . You’ll get a quality job at a Fair price !! I got half a dozen bids for the front yard, which had a shade problem along with just being unattractive. We decided to xeriscape to save water and the fungus attacks on the damp grass. Matt came, and listened to what I said, which was basically “just dump rocks on it” lol but then he said, “look, I can make your yard actually look nice rather than just dump rocks.” He then quickly produced a nice drawing, and followed it up by standing and staring at the front, imagining how he could improve on it. He did cost more than the other bids, but what he produced was just so much nicer and had real potential so we took the chance. Now we’re glad. He made his drawing come to life with curves and different rock paths that actually make it interesting and attractive. Had he done what I first asked and just “dumped rocks” up there, despite being practical, it just wouldn’t have looked nice at all. Now it really really does! People are already telling me they love what we did in the front yard and honestly, I didn’t think that was going to be possible. So the moral of the story for me is if you just want to “dump rocks” down you can spend less, but if you want it to have an artistic touch, something that pleases the eye, go with Matt!

I gave Matthew a shout and told him what my lawn was getting yellow dead spots. He stopped by and took a look at it for me and told me what it was and what I needed to do to get rid of the issue. I asked him what I owed him, and he said nothing, we’re good. Very professional, knowledgeable and prompt. If I ever have any further yard issues, I will call him and give him my business. Matthew was very professional and ontime. I was really happy he responded to my text and was ready to help us with the sod installation in our front yard, even though it was small project. I had called multiple companies who either didn’t service this area or the job was too small for them. He gave us an estimate and was ready to start the work the following week. He also gave some tips on how to maintain a greener lawn. Would highly recommend him.

We recently hired The Yard Father (Matt) to help us figure out what to do about our sad, dead grass in the front and back of our house. Matt began by thoroughly assessing our lawn and discussing our options with us. He took time to answer all of our questions and helped us to make an informed decision. Matt got back to us super fast with an estimate and timeline to replace our front and back lawns with new sod from a local farm (Green Hills Sod Farm). We were thrilled that the entire project only took 3 days! They worked efficiently and with great care, removing all the old grass (including some gnarly roots that were hiding under the back lawn!), tilling up the topsoil and fertilizing it in preparation for the new grass and ensuring that every inch of the new sod was perfectly in place from edge to edge. Throughout the job, they were friendly, professional and respectful of our property. Now that the project is complete, we couldn’t be happier with the results. Our lawn is lush and green with grass that is evenly distributed and healthy. We have already received numerous compliments from our neighbors and passersby! We are thrilled with the work that The Yard Father has done for us, and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to hire a professional landscaper. We’ve already contracted them again to help us with another outdoor update — we’re seriously going to be the envy of our neighborhood this summer! 🙂
