With how unresponsive this team is I highly recommend using a different contractor. They consistently place blame on others and take no responsibility for their staff.

Austin Outdoor Design was great to work with. They renovated our backyard and we absolutely love the result! It’s now a great space to hangout and have people over, we enjoy it everyday. Highly recommend!!!

I was extremely disappointed with AOD and do not recommend using them for your project. I had hired them to do my yard and given them a 50-80K budget. They agreed to take the project and we had several meetings to work on the design, After a few months came back with an estimate for 240K and had tried to get me to sign off on final design before even seeing the estimate from them. I told them this is not within the budget I had given them and they came back a week later with an estimate for 130K. They also stated this was standard process to come back with an estimate this over what the original budget was. I asked for my money back because the designs were useless at this point. I only received a fraction of my money back and got absolutely nothing for the thousands of dollars and months of time I wasted working with them.

AOD did an amazing job. The finished product looks pretty much *exactly* like the 3D renderings they did for us when they designed the project, and it came in exactly on-budget. They responded to issues when they arose with expertise and professionalism. Highly recommended.

So far they canceled two meetings after they were supposed to come here. This is the fourth they canceled in total.

Great group of professionals. The landscape architect nailed it. Understood what the look of the house was going to be and was able to enhance and in fact, add to the appearance and overall success of the project through his creative landscape design. AOD’s various crews from stone masons and landscape installers, to drainage experts and steel fabricators and welders—all were professional and skilled and great to work with. The project was on budget and completed in a timely manner. They have been responsive to any concerns or issues that have arisen. I highly recommend AOD.

We had such an amazing experience with Austin Outdoor Design. We continue to get compliments on our yard, and daily enjoy our little piece of heaven. Jose’s vision for our yard, which resembled a jungle when we bought the house, was simply astonishing. Out of an overgrown, hot and basically unusable backyard, he created a haven. The variety of spaces accommodate all our needs, and see daily use. Our deck and pergola are masterpieces. During construction, we met regularly with John, who was friendly, knowledgeable and held his crews to high standards. I enjoyed working with John, and appreciated getting to know the people who came to work on the project. Overall, we are so happy we chose to work with AOD, and definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a beautiful yard.

AOD was a great match for us in terms of style and quality we were looking for in our full backyard renovation. I’d recommend them if you want to create a thoughtful extension to your home creating an outdoor living space.
