We worked with Rob and his team to design and install softscape (plantings) in our front, side, and back yard. They provided excellent communication, great visualizations of what they proposed, and worked well with our feedback. They worked efficiently and finished well ahead of schedule. We are very happy with the work they did.

My neighbor hired Groff Landscape Design for some tricky landscaping needs, including challenging drainage problems due to where we live. A team of us, all designers and artists came up with some pretty creative solutions, but the team at Groff one-upped us, and really dazzled us with their ideas, and the execution was flawless. I have a big landscaping project coming up in the spring, and I look forward to working with Groff to get it completed. Exciting.

The Groff team is incredible. They did a new stone patio, backyard drainage, sod installation, and new flower bed plantings for us. The work was exactly on schedule, the team was professional, meticulous in their work, and very easy to work with. They are definitely my first choice for any future landscaping work!

I think it’s safe to say I was completely impressed by Groff every step of the way. The designer I worked with was kind and took my notes and needs into account, their horticulturist, Quinn, was so delightfully excited about my plants and put up with my thousand questions during our walk through, and finally the installation team was AMAZING. Josh and his team were punctual, kind, and really there for the project every step of the way. At one point, the company delivering the grill had left it in front of my garage, trapping my car in on a Friday afternoon (I certainly couldn’t lift it myself); I called Josh and someone was there to move it within an hour. There were some delays due to deliveries (Covid & supply lines & whatnot), but they were all communicated and when supplies did come it, the team made it clear finishing my project was a top priority. What really blew me away though (and continues to impress) was Groff’s care for my project AFTER it was finished (and the last check had cleared). Josh came by to install a new fire pit igniter after the first one didn’t work. While there, he noticed they hadn’t filled a raised garden bed and came back to do that a few days later (I hadn’t even noticed it tbh!). Robert Groff himself called after the project was over to make sure I was satisfied and I mentioned being annoyed at the automatic light schedule and not knowing how to program it differently. He said he would look into it and within an hour had identified the problem and screen shooted images of how to fix it. THEN, just today, a full 8 months after the project is complete, I received an email from their horticulturist, Quinn, asking if all the plants were still doing well and if I wanted to do a walk through with him just to be sure. Look, they were certainly not the cheapest option, but from my standpoint (a single woman, living alone, who really needed someone to be there for her and manage this), they are well worth it. A FULL 5 stars.

I recently used Groff Landscape Design for a major landscaping project at my home. I was extremely impressed with their work from start to finish. The design team was incredibly professional and listened carefully to my vision for the space. They worked with me to create a beautiful and functional design that exceeded my expectations. Once the design was complete, the construction team was equally impressive. They were efficient and skilled, and they paid careful attention to every detail. The end result was a stunning outdoor space that included a patio, pool, and beautiful landscaping. I am extremely happy with the work that Groff Landscape Design did for me, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-quality landscaping services. They are true professionals and their work is truly exceptional.

We engaged with Groff for our large backyard hardscape, small pool and landscaping project in 2021-2022. The process from start to finish was simply the best contractor experience we have had. Design: Sean with the design team was incredibly skilled, detail-oriented and accommodating. Easily worked with us down to minute details, and offered great advice. Quinn with landscape design, similar, he met with us in the early stages and reviewed everything from botany, drainage, and meeting our unique needs. The estimating and contract were clear, accurate, and constantly up to date. Once handed to Josh and the actual build crew, the expertise continued. The crew was polite, hard-working, clean, and friendly. Clearly detailed oriented. We knew almost every day what the plan was and what was needed from us. As our project was mostly during the winter months, and while there were delays due to weather, these were expected and communicated extensively. The end product exceeded our expectations. There were no ‘hidden’ costs, as we thoroughly discussed and understood change orders as we went along. The personal attention from Jose, Josh, and Rob Groff was exemplary. Seriously cannot recommend Groff strongly enough. You will pay a premium for this level of work, it is a value in every imaginable way.

We hired Groff in November 2020 to transform our very difficult backyard (flooding, slope issues, dark, etc) into an area that we wanted to spend time in and that was low maintenance. We spent months working with Groff tweaking the design and selecting materials. They were very responsive to questions we had and any problems that arose during construction. We are so happy with the result. They really made every inch useable and I no longer dread my own backyard.

From start to finish, working with Groff Landscape Design was an absolute dream! They responded promptly to our initial request for an estimate and provided that estimate quickly – with the estimated (and final) cost comparable to other companies/quotes we got. Once we started working on the design, again, responses to my questions were answered quickly and professionally. When it came time for installation, the workers showed up every day on time as promised and worked quickly to finish the job. The workers were so prompt that a few of our neighbors even commented that they had never seen such prompt and consistent contractors! The final product is exactly as expected and more! We truly love our new outdoor space and we couldn’t be happier. Groff is truly a top notch company to work with!

(Just noticed this review was never posted – so doing so now [May 2021] It’s unfortunate Ms. Winkler allowed an initial unfavorable call to derail her opportunity to work with Groff Landscape Design. Rob Groff and his team are the best contract firm we have worked with in our 25 years in Arlington and the permeable drive they installed is as beautiful as the day it was completed four years ago (while others in the neighborhood installed by other firms are sinking into the ground). Highly recommended!

Groff was fantastic to work with from beginning to end, I got immediate detailed answers to questions at all times of day. The team was courteous, responsive, and took time to explain everything they were doing. Our new outdoor space is like having two fantastic new rooms added to our home!
