VernCo Roofing out of Johnston was amazing yesterday. They came at 7:30 am and roofed my huge Morton building and garage. They had to wait for the wind to die down and they pulled out the drive at 9:45 pm. I’m amazed at the workmanship, determination, leadership and overall performance. I wouldn’t have anyone but Chaney and Bryce’s (project manager) company VernCo Roofing on the farm.

This review is for the Cedar Rapids, IA, VernCo crew (Joe H. and Brock). On May 21, 2024, a severe storm took down a huge branch from a tree in our backyard (which took out a section of our fence), as well as a 30-foot branch from our neighbor’s tree that hit the roof and rain gutter on the side of our house. Our State Farm agency, which we’ve been with for more than a decade, gave us Joe’s number. I called Joe and he immediately set up an appointment to take a look. Three hours later he was there to assess the damage—not just to the roof and rain gutter, but also any possible damage elsewhere on the house that we could have missed. Luckily the side rain gutter was the only casualty. What impressed us most wasn’t just that he was straightforward and honest enough to say the gutter damage didn’t necessarily need replacing. It was also the fact that he and Brock came back the next day to remove the gutter guards and bend the existing gutter back into shape and reattach it with new spikes in two spots—FOR FREE. In the process, they even cleaned a whole bunch of mud and pebbles out the gutter (something I’d been meaning to get around to myself!). The gutter looks better now than it did before the storm, and there was no pressure to replace or fix anything else whatsoever. We didn’t pay a cent. Joe seems to get that great customer service and zero-pressure is the wise, long-term-vision way to build a business. Not short-term tactics cloaked in B.S. We’ll definitely keep his card around in case something more serious happens (knock on wood! 😆).

Late March I had damage to my roof due to wind, within an hour of calling Vernco they had the roof tarped. After assisting with the insurance process they were able to quickly fix my roof and left it better than it was before the damage. I highly recommend. Fair priced and exceptional service.

A relief working with Chaney Smith and Vernco after going through hail damage and insurance. Chaney was there through the whole process, worked with us and took care of coordination with insurance company. Our house look great, shingles, siding, and gutters all covered and replaced.
