Cowles did an excellent job with both plumbing and electrical work in our house. They provided a timely and accurate estimate and a good price. They provided a clear written contract, got the job done quickly, professionally and on time, and cleaned up well afterwards. They were pleasant and easy to deal with and we are very happy with the results.

Cowles installed a new HVAC system into my home some 3 years ago but unfortunately had to return and service the AC every year for low refrigerate. They finally returned again this year and it appears found the source of the leak. I’m not real happy that they had to keep returning but whats important is that they did stand behind their installation. Fingers crossed that there isn’t another leak in the system.

This company doesn’t have integrity. Poor service. Would not recommend. Try to find another company for plumbing or electrician.

I hired them to install new insulation in my house last winter. We got the contract signed in days and their crew came out the following week and finished the job in 2 1/2 days. They used care to keep my house clean and did a very nice job getting the modern upgrade into my old house at a fair price. My only real criticism is they undersold the difference this job would make, saying it would have only a small effect on my gas bill. It actually improved 3x what they estimated it would, but the best result is the comfort. My upstairs used to be 10 degrees hot in summer and 10 degrees colder in the winter. Now it is even temperature and more pleasant there than downstairs even thanks to the insulation! I just decided to hire them again to do similar work at another house.

They showed up on time for jobs needed at my home,. They did terrific work, and I will definitely hire them again. Replaced my tub and shower, new toilet, furnace and AC maintenance. Very thorough also. I recommend this company highly.

We are renting a house with a boiler previously installed by Cowles with the sticker on it stating they should be contacted to service it. It went out at the same time as Watertown is 9 degrees outside and under winter weather advisory. It was after hours which meant they charge double to come out and inspect however there really was 0 other option as we were concerned with the realistic possibility of our pipes freezing and bursting. They sent two very young men who looked at it, said It’s old and we don’t have the parts (no offer to order or assist further) and are unfamiliar with anything but current models. No recommendations of who else to contact or even advice on how to prevent potential damages. Simply said nothing they could do and demanded the money (one stated it’s just company policy, I don’t make the rules) then left us stranded. I understand that new apprentices may be unfamiliar with anything other than very modern set-ups but they did not contact anyone with more experience or do ANYTHING to assist the issue – again, the sticker on the boiler that was replaced 7 years ago states this company installed it and was who to contact for servicing. Inethical to take our money and leave us in a house with no heat and no way to remedy the situation. I can’t speak to any other services they provide and will never as I would NEVER contact or use them ever again. I recommend looking elsewhere unless you enjoy throwing money away.
