It’s never a good day when you realize you need any type of HVAC work done….you know it will be expensive and these days it’s becoming hard to trust these “professional services” to have integrity. So I was dreading it when I went to Google to find an HVAC company to look at our minisplit unit that refused to cool during the 95+ degree weather in kansas. Like most of us, I looked at reviews and saw that Capital City Heating and Cooling had 5 stars! They started off immediately impressing me…I called at 7:36am intending to leave a message since they open at 8. I was surprised when the phone was answered….by a HUMAN! She was pleasant, professional and got me scheduled for 2pm later that day. First impression was pretty good but the bad part was still to come….or so I thought. I got a call from Kyle whom I assumed was one of their technicians around 1pm. He said he was a little ahead of schedule if I could get there early. I’m honestly not sure I’ve EVER had a company call earlier than scheduled. I met him a the house about 20 minutes later and he was already up on a ladder inspecting the minisplit unit. Well, after some diagnostics in 98 degree heat, he realized that the unit was simply overcharged with refrigerant and pumped the extra out. It immediately started working again. Originally he thought it might have been a faulty compressor which would have been well over $500. He also went ahead and cleaned and serviced the unit. Total bill was just $150 for the day which I’m still happily in shock from, but the best part is that we found a solid, reliable HVAC company that actually has some integrity. Oh, and it turns out Kyle was the owner and a freaking nice guy! Great job Kyle, and thank you for helping restore a little of my faith in humans being. In a weird way I’m kinda looking forward to the next time the ac or furnace isn’t working, lol!

I can’t speak highly enough of these guys. Called for an HVAC replacement and they came out with an incredibly reasonable quote on a new system and got me up and running free of charge until they could schedule the swap. They made a dreaded problem for most homeowners pretty painless. I wouldn’t call anyone else for HVAC.
