My name is Harry (Lee) Brumfield and I worked for Bee Electric twice in my lifetime. Once when I was just 21 or so and again at around 28 years old. What people must understand by these workers reviews is that Jim Davis is old school and expects his guys to know what they are doing and to get things done without there always being an excuse or problem on why you cant do it or finish it. To sum Jim up, I would say he is the come to me with solutions not problems kinda guy. Yes, Jim could be a hard a*s and yes he would get in his moods. BUT you try running a company where all day people are coming at you with problems from not having material, to a work truck issue, to guys not working unless you babysit them all day, not to mention dealing with employees who all have personal problems they expect you to understand and work around! Jim was tough but fair and one of the BEST ELECTRICIANS I have ever met! He is a dying breed and the world is going to miss men like him and his skill level and knowledge when he is gone!! He runs things a little different than most shops. My experience working there it was anywhere from 15 to 20 guys or less who showed to the shop every morning by 7 then took a company truck out to do work orders or to a job site. Jim Davis did the work most companies would turn away from or wouldn’t want to touch. To sum it up I can say I learned TONS working there and being thrown on jobs or calls blind and had to figure things out and troubleshoot problems to make the repairs. It was challenging but I enjoyed it and it made me a much better electrician and more confident electrician then I was before I worked there. Dorothy was always a sweetheart too! I hope Jim and Dorothy are doing well and if you didn’t like your time there as an employee then go work somewhere else! It’s Houston Tx for christ sakes and why leave a review? Pretty sure you weren’t the best employee either! If I know Jim, and you were a hell of an electrician you had no problem with Jim!

I have known Jim Davis for ten years and have never gotten anything but exemplary service at a fair price! I read the reviews by the disgruntled former workers – they are just that. I have worked side by side with Jim and several of his employees and they are outstanding. Highly recommend!

I would give 0 stars if I could… Owner Mr Davis has no respect. Over priced

I worked here. Not worker friendly. But hey this is Texas. Here it’s business first employees last.
