Let me start by explaining the scenario; the AC stopped cooling late in the afternoon while it was 96 degrees. I knew we could make it through the night before it got too stifling, so in the meantime I sent messages to the first 15 listings on Google’s search for “HVAC near me”. Michael and Son was the first and only service to respond; first gold star. I knew that with the heat sweeping the area that all the HVAC services would be very busy, and didn’t think I would get anyone to come out on such short notice without it being an “emergency” call with an emergency premium tacked onto the bill, and that it would probably take a day or three. When M&S called, they told me they could have someone there between 10 and 12 that day, no emergency; second and third gold star. When his prior call ran a little long, the tech (Manuel) messaged to let me know he’d be just a few minutes over but that he was coming ASAP; that’s the fourth gold star. Once he arrived, Manuel was quick, knowledgeable, and unceasingly professional; he indulged my many questions, and was overall such a pleasure to deal with that I didn’t even mind paying the bill. He was absolutely worth all five gold stars (I’d go six if I could!). From now on, I don’t need to look for HVAC services; I know who I’ll be calling. Don’t change a thing!

Well, I originally left a positive review after our AC was replaced around this time last year. Since then, we have had nothing but issues. Initially, within a week of the AC being installed, it flooded our attic. Our loft in our home had to have the ceiling redone. The company could not figure out why it was happening and it took weeks before we had a functioning unit. Michael and Sons tried to blame it on anything but their own work. They also hired terrible contractors to fix the ceiling in the loft. The unit has gone out numerous times since then. Less than a year after spending 12k on the new unit, we are without AC again and have been without for days. Word of warning – Michael and Sons will not respond to requests over weekends, even if your house is leaking due to their awful work. Michael and Son actually came out on Monday for their mandatory AC check and they said everything was fine. Within 4 days, the unit was dead and will not power on at all. We have been sitting here suffering without any AC during the hottest days of the year. I am tired of cancelled appointments. I am tired of dealing with the company. I’m just tired. I wish they could rip this garbage out and I would happily find another company that actually honors their appointments, cares about customers, and has any type of pride in their work. LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR ANY HVAC OR PLUMBING SERVICES.

Manuel was top tier!!! He diagnosed and stayed to ensure the system was working properly, when it didn’t he stayed and troubleshot again until it was resolved! He even explained to me the importance of a safety switch (which I ended up buying). He was very personable! I highly recommend!
