I received outstanding service from SM Mechanical when my air conditioning recently quit working, and I will definitely be calling again them for any future repair needs! SM Mechanical had done the initial installation of my HVAC system—along with several other upgrades that were recommended by a home energy audit 5 years ago—which was also a very positive experience. On both occasions, I was impressed by the professionalism of the team and happy with the work. They were communicative, thorough, and efficient, and everyone I’ve spoken with at SM Mechanical has been extremely pleasant. For my recent service call, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who not only addressed my issue promptly, but also took the time to talk with me about the equipment and offer some useful tips.

After 3 other quotes and 1 diagnosis, we were under the impression that our A/C unit got hit by lightning and we needed to change the whole unit. However, when Brad showed up to make a quote he immediately told us what was wrong with our unit. These other companies were trying to rip us off, but Brad was straight and up front and told us what we needed. After a couple of days waiting for the piece to arrive, his team came and fixed the problem very quickly. Now everything works as it should.

I cannot say enough great things about Bob and his crew. Everything went smoothly and Bob was very informative. We were very apprehensive going into this, but they made it super easy and stress free. Alex was also very helpful and did a superb job. Ivan and I believe it was Abby, did great. They were extremely neat and cleaned up so well, I couldn’t tell they were even here . Sean took the time to explain why my outdoor unit was malfunctioning. Rather than just say “it’s time for a new unit” (tho mine is 12 years old), he simply noted the pressure leak to the unit and refilled the unit. While prices have gone up in the last 4 years for refigerant, it was far better than getting a new unit or coil at this time. He was straight up and honest. He also took the time to check my other heat pump unit and then answer HVAC and home insulation questions when he had another service call to get to. Have continued to use S&M Mechanical for a few years now and had my hot water heater through them as well. Thank you and good job!

We’ve been customers of SM mechanical for many years, and recommend them to our friends without reservation. It was high time to write a public review and the incredible service we received today from Roy and Pat was just the motivation we needed. One doesn’t typically need mechanical services all that often, but it’s such a relief as a homeowner to have a company to call on that is so ethical, fairly priced, and caring about its customers. Each time we’ve worked with them the experience has been incredible. The work is solid, the technicians are knowledgeable and personable, and before they leave they are always careful to explain everything about our system or new equipment and how to maintain it. Once I called with an emergency and they didn’t have anyone available for a week (great companies are often busy!) and the manager called me back with a ballpark pricing quote anyway just so I’d have a good comparison while shopping around so that we wouldn’t get taken advantage of! Seriously, give them a call.
