Throughout the entire process, I harbored some doubts about the competence of the technician assigned to my A/C unit. My partner was even more skeptical, expressing outright disbelief in the technician’s abilities. Despite these issues, I chose to remain optimistic. The technician seemed inexperienced, constantly seeking guidance from their supervisor, who eventually had to join them on the first visit. I believed they were genuinely trying to assist me, but after being persuaded to spend over $1k, I felt exploited. My unit failed to function properly just a couple of days post-repair. They also replaced my thermostat, which I’ll elaborate on later. The technician’s approach was more of a guessing game than a systematic troubleshooting process. During their second visit, I wasn’t home and had my neighbor oversee the proceedings. I was neither informed nor consulted about the additional $200+ service charge. It seemed they assumed I’d be okay with the cost, given my previous expenditure. To add to the financial burden, they suggested I needed a new A/C unit costing over $10k. As a student, this was beyond my means. The person I spoke to over the phone was insistent on me opting for a payment plan. Despite explaining my financial commitments towards bills, school, and basic necessities, they continued to pressure me into agreeing to the plan. Their lack of consideration was disheartening. A sum of $10k might be trivial for some, but it’s a significant amount for me and many others. After their departure, I sought a second opinion. The new repair person identified and fixed the issue – a faulty fan motor – within the hour, and at a fraction of the cost I had previously incurred. The thermostat installed by the initial service turned out to be incompatible with my A/C unit and was deemed ‘useless’ by the second repairman. The initial service failed to troubleshoot this issue. They tampered with my thermostat, replaced it incorrectly, and even suggested a new unit when they couldn’t correct a simple problem. I’ve lost all trust in their service and have no intention of using them again. If there was a possibility of a refund, I’d be overjoyed. I’ve decided to stop recommending this company to my friends and family.
